Do any anyone knows the reason or have any idea why people cover their car's plate number when posting their pictures online?

Some bad guys can use the number to produce all the documents of the vehicle and go lodge a complaint to the police that their vehicle is missing. I hope this clarifies ur question.

People do it for security reasons...

someone mischievious can have access to the FRSC Database and get their addresses, phone numbers and other personal information, because such information of owners of Registered Vehicles is usually captured and stored in that database...Imagine what a kidnapper or assasin can do with such information....

Agents selling Nigerian used cars do it so that someone cannot access the same FRSC Database and get the real owner'sphone number and contact him or her,thereby cutting them out of their commission

Some sellers of Nigerian used cars also do it for security reasons to avoid car thieves paying them a visit after getting their info from the FRSC Database..


Some people also do it because they don't want us to know the identity of the owner of the car they are doing borrow pose with .....Some of us can still remember how we got to know Daniella Okeke had something with Apostle Suleiman after they both denied having anything to do with each other...Daniella Okeke posted a picture of herself beside a car car, and one olofofo had the time to check out the vehicle's registration information on the FRSC Database which showed that the car is that of oga Apostle ....

Of the hundreds if not thousands of vehicles with visible plates all around them, it's one random picture on the internet they'll want want to claim ownership?

That is just the reason, what I said wasn't my own opinion but the fact, u can do ur findings.

So, a car moving on the road or packed at a mall don't suffer this risk? The explanation is not strong enough.

The worst part is that he kept denying everything. I used to wonder if he thought we are all his church members

Anyone who wants to do that can as well go and stand on the main road or walk down any busy street and pick up as much number plate as he or she wishes

If this is the case why do people drive their cars without covering the plate number, why is it only when they want to snap pictures?

Because a name and a face can be quickly connected to a plate number when such picture is taken...

But one is mostly anonymous on the road...You don't know how many celebs you have been stuck in traffic with
