The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Elrufai has warned parents who enrol their children in the almanjiri education, that they stand the risk of facing up to two years in prison.

This was said when he visited the 200 Almanjirai that were sent from Nassarawa State and currently undergoing rehabilitation.

The Governor while speaking said that "Any Islamic cleric who enrols any child into the Almajiri system would be prosecuted and jailed"

He added that they would be fined N100,000 or N200,000 per child.

Everybody is gearing up for 2023. Very soon we'll start seeing them frying akara, hawking banana, controlling traffic and other petty stuffs just to deceive the gullible ones.

That is good! How i wish all the governors in the North can be this responsible, we wouldn't be having problems in our hands.

This is the time Sanusi's reforms ideas of people not marrying wives they can't cater for will manifest. Talk more of bearing child they can't take care of. Everyone must be responsible.

Kaduna is really eager to come first. I hope he has a comprehensive succession plan of who takes over after him like Lagos had.

The issue with the Northern states is that governors are influenced by religious inclinations. The next set of governors may reverse this Almajiri things.

Minus Fanaticism from El rufai and he will be better than many Nigeria performance but he have a Stone heart like Buhari

I’m glad the governor of Kaduna state is tackling the Almajiri problem with all seriousness. The zero tolerance approach of the governor to Almajiri must be sustained and extended to all affected northern states.

the north will return to ground zero in 2023. all the noise is for the southern media. almajirai are part of the electoral process.
