This doesnt quite make sense. Why should he still be in communication with his ex, isn't it just normal for him to be totally done with the ex before asking for a relationship from me. It is not my duty to erase the ex.
The way you save the name of someone reveals how much that persons means to you.
The ex earned that title and lost it after becoming an ex. Imagine you're dating a lady that saved your name with the location you are and her ex name with 'my love'.
I cannot get myself to keep showing love to a man that doesnt see beyond Victoria Benin, this guy told me he called his mum to confirm whether he can still marry her and you are asking me to earn his love. Isn't it obvious am a back up?

I have a previous thread about this man. We started dating like a month now. When I was at his place one time like that, he wanted to show me something on his phone and a whatsapp message popped up from MY LOVE, obviously I wasnt the one that sent the message.
I didnt say anything immediately, I got home and asked him about who that person was, and he said the lady is his ex. He is not in his twenties anymore and it's hard to see a man in his 30s that is actually VERY SINGLE, so I asked him if there is any woman in his life and he told me about a ex that his mum said he cannot marry.
This same ex was the lady that sent him the text that day, they are still in touch and constantly talking.
I was surprised last week when we saw again, fortunately I got to see that he saved my own name as VICTORIA BENIN. I didnt say anything either.
I got home and talked to him about it then he said "with time that will change" what's all that? He knows am not too happy with him, then two days ago he said he called his mum to talk to her about this same ex, whether he can still marry her or not. He then said his mum said NO that am the only lady in his life.
I want to break up this relationship. This is crazy

You see all these guys telling you to stay and earn his love bla bla bla? Don't listen to them at all.
Reason this thing, if it was the other way round and a guy came on nairaland to say his girlfriend of 3weeks still had her ex's number as 'my love' and his as 'john Lag', these same guys will call him "weak", they will insult him for still staying with her, they'll advise him to take to his heels -- It's all gender bias.

My advice for you is... flee and don't look back. He isn't for you. He doesn't even respect you enough and he will never love you as much as he loves his ex whom he still loves and was separated from due to family differences. Fleeee my dear
