We will support the governor for doing this, but what happened to the rule of law here? a governor just wake up to demolish a property belonging to a suspected kidnapper (yes suspected as he is still innocent till decided otherwise by a court of law) who is still at large.
We should learn how to follow due process in this country not playing to the gallery by our governors who turn themselves to law on their own. The man might be a kidnapper but the property should be seized pending when he will be arrested and prosecuted, then if convicted the property can be forfeited or destroyed according to the extant laws.
We the masses applaud these governors when they take populist but unlawful decisions, we fail to point it out to them to follow due process because the person at the receiving end is a low life or a dare devil criminal. Imagine the governor who exercise his powers unlawfully this way, finding himself in a corruption charges after finishing his term in office, and the federal government decided to demolish the property allegedly aquired or built with the corrupt money without waiting for the court to decide his guilt or otherwise.
We will now join the governor based on our ethnic, religious and political linings to condemn the act, citing "presumed innocent until proven guilty", shouting "due process isn't followed". But because this alleged kidnapper didn't commit a white collar crime, he and his property have to be crucified without having his day in the court of law.
No sign of civilization in all of us in this country, we are all bunch of hipocrites only fit for the jungle, If we must embrace democracy, the rule of law mustn't be applied selectively especially based on the haves and have nots. Mind you I hate kidnappers but rule of law should always guide us
