If you don't have money, make use of alternative dispute resolution

Use private investigator to get him, then arrest him but use well respected people to mediate over the case so that you won't pay

His acc details might be of help..if you have it...[q1uote author=dongodav post=90167346]Hi all the moguls,

Please there is this company in Akure that scammed me some years ago under the pretence of helping me secure admission abroad. I paid a total of 1.something million naira and he is still owing me 788K. Ever since then, the company has not been opening and they have vacated the office.

I even visited SARS in Akure, they said I have to write a petition through a lawyer and I paid the lawyer 10K write petition which he handed over the letter to me without knowing i will still pay SARS again before the job commenced.

When I got to SARS station, they said I should pay so that they can take the letter to the CP for approval but I don't have any dime on me again. And since the company is no more existing, I thought it might also be another loss.
Please I have his phone number but it is not reachable when I try it and I don't think it is attached to his BVN because it is quite long and I know his fullname but I don't know his home town. His office was located in Akure then and I know his Company name.

He did processed admission to few schools in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Please advice and if there is anyone that can help and when we get him, the person will take 288K while I have the remaining 500K.

Also, is it advisable to post his name, company's name and phone number online? Cos it might be illegal to do that except with a legal backup.
This is my own little way of helping you. If you can do these, the probability of tracking the man and getting your money back is 90%.
1). Go to a police station and file a case, explaining all that happened to them. You may have to pay small tip but not as much as SARS.
2). Once a police report is given to you, take it to the bank where you paid the money (I'm sure 1 or 2 policemen will follow you).
3). On seeing the police report and police accomplice, the bank will dig out the BVN of the scammer and you use it to block all accounts attached to the BVN. All the branches of the bank will be alerted and his account will be flagged. This scammer will be unable to perform any transaction, thereby frustrating him to go lodge a complaint in the bank.
They'll just jejely catch him. Boom....your money will be back and he'll be severely punished.
Follow the steps and thank me later.
God will see you through (Amen).

It is well with you. So sorry for your loss.
Truly, you don't need an agent to do school visa or admission for you unless you have complex visa refusal issues in the past bothering on fraud, lies or the likes. In such cases, I'll recommend specialist immigration help in navigating the situation.

Other than that, not sure why a student will be going for travel agent. Study these things yourself. Nairaland is an excellent resource. I know people who have relied solely on Nairaland or online information to travel out. Once again, sorry for your loss.

Sorry for the scamming experience
Anyone here who has been scammed will know what you are going through.
I have and I had to let it go cause the person reportedly later died.
But if you can find this man, don't give up, he can run but he can't hide forever.
Everyday for the thief one day for the owner.
So long as he didn't get you the admission, he should refund your money.
Also why are you offering 288k for people to help you?
Is it not the same money issue the SARS people were asking from you that you ran? Or is it because theirs was that you pay upfront? It is well

Stay calm, you will get your money my dear. Put your trust in God.

Nonsense advice. This is a "I leave am for God" advice that has put Nigeria in this predicament.

Bro, meet one is two officers of the SARS personally, tell them about this deal of taking 288k and you keeping 500k. Make sure there's a written, photographed and if possible video evidence of the whole deal. They'll snuff the scammer out in no time

Yes, I know that but it is because I don't have a dime, that was why I abandon him and I keep all the receipts for payments, currently I don't have anything and I guessed I might be affected if I post his name and phone number online to declare him wanted because he may also charged me for libel.

There is nothing called libel once it is true. Once you can prove that an individual of business entity is a fraud.

If you are in doubt of proving that the individual is a fraud, at least you are sure that he/she collected money from you.

Post all evidences that he/she collected money from you and all other evidence that can assist you in tracking him down.

Libel only arises if you are lying

I honestly still don’t know why people pay anyone to “process” admission. Are they agents of the school? You are literate and have access to the internet. What stops you from going through the process yourself. The word “process” admission only applies to Naija schools

That’s how my sister spent unreasonable money too in the name of admission. I and my other siblings did ours by ourselves to U.K. universities. Everything you need is online free of charge.
If you have evidence of what transpired - receipts, emails, signature, terms and contract of engagement then involve a lawyer straight away not SARS

He defrauded u he shud be behind bars or pay up ur money. If his Num doesn’t connect im sure u have his ac.c details.

Did he refuse to pay u ur balance and he asked for more time? Putting up his company name and pix won’t make him pay u, unless it goes viral and he’s under pressure to contact to pay up or charge u.

Go to Twitter and meet any of the activists like segalink. They might help or point u in the right direction. Since u don’t have a dime.
