Why I don’t invite home based to Super Eagles again – Rohr Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr has defended his decision for overlooking home based Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL players for national team duty again. Since his appointment four years ago, only Heartland goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has enjoyed constant invitations to the Super Eagles with the Nigeria Football Federation accusing him of not looking homeward in his selection. But Rohr has now defended himself explaining that he has invited 23 players from the local league since he took the Super Eagles in 2016, but it became difficult to continue working with the players because most of them are running abroad for greener pastures. “Unfortunately, Nigeria professional football league is not like other leagues in Europe, I already invited 23 players from the Nigeria professional football league, but unfortunately they are always running to Europe,” Rohr said https://www.blueprint.ng/why-i-dont-invite-home-based-to-super-eagles-again-rohr/
