Court To Decide Validity Of Ize-Iyamu’s APC Membership Next Week by oshozondii: 2:02pm On Jun 19, 2020
Justice Emmanuel Ahamioje of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City has fixed Thursday, June 25 for judgement in the suit challenging the All Progressives Congress, APC membership of Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The court will also deliver judgement on the waiver granted him by the National Working Committee of the party to contest the APC Governorship primaries.

Ize-Iyamu recently defected to the APC from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on whose platform he contested the Edo State Governorship election in 2016 and lost to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki.

It will be recalled that Governor Obaseki has resigned his membership of the APC to contest the 2020 Governorship election on the platform of a different party after he was disqualified from contesting the APC Governorship primaries.

With all these non-ending litigations and counter courts prouncements flying from one APC camp to another almost on hourly basis, APC might likely end up with no gubernatorial candidate for this Edo election, making it so easy for PDP to have a landslide victory.

APC is currently a more disunited entity since the exit of Oshimole, and have very little or no time at hand to put their house in order before this election.

Ize-Iyamu has a lot of baggages so many court cases on his neck, from corruption, waiver, eligibility.

The 25th case will go against him. Ize-Iyamu will remain in court even the election, just like David Lyon of Bayelsa from the day the primary was conducted until a day before he was supposed to be sworn in and the court rule against him.

As it's stands now only Victor Giadom/ Edo APC chapter loyal to Obaseki recognised primary that INEC will participate and accept candidate.

I see that Mathew Idurokowem being favoured by Victor Giadom and the authentic Edo APC chapter led by Anselm Ojezua.

Hehe Obaseki my man. He will wait for APC to give him ticket after the primaries then pull him down through his court. Whoever is writing this script for him is doing well.

APC might end up having no candidates in Edo state and I will try to justify.
1. As at now there are two state chairmen of APC in Edo one loyal to Obaseki and other loyal to Oshiomole
2. The faction loyal to Obaseki suspended Oshiomole from d Ward and with d Appeal Court ruling upholding d suspension, it has granted legit to d pro-Obaseki faction as d authentic faction.
3. Obviously d faction dat is loyal to Obaseki never issued Ize Iyamu an APC membership card at d Ward level but likely issued to him by d pro-Oshiomole faction
4. With d Appeal court ruling which implicitly gave d pro-Obaseki legitimacy in Edo, and with d pro-Obaseki faction refusing to move out of APC with d governor, what am seeing which I expect u to be seeing now is dat d legitimacy of Ize Iyamu candidacy might fall like a pack of card.
5. The ruling on this coming after all primaries must have been conducted means a scenario of APC no candidature might repeat itself in Edo
6. Bookmark this my post. We must continue

He might be correct after all. Luring POI from PDP by Osho might be a surreptitious scheme to weaken PDP's camp and by the time he's denied the ticket by Osho, the deadline would have been over for him to jump ship. You should know that Adams is a very cunning and crafty cretin. All these debacles could be some hatched clandestine ploy to destabilize POI. I have always known that POI would pose a grave threat to Adams if he succeeds. And you know Obudu has been a loyal servant to Adams since 2008 till date. God fathers don't anoint successor anyhow, they go for stooges who are very loyal to them. Thus, POI can never bend to Osho's whims and caprices. He might even expunge Osho from the political scene and send him to exile, in a bid to pay him back for his betrayal when Osho reneged on their agreement after his 2nd term, He chose Obaseki instead of him that made political platform for him in APC.

You should know that these direct primary results does not reflect the realness of voting processes. The results are usually written by the Chairmen. More so, Obudu has a grassroot political base in APC more than POI that just moved in. I tell you, if Osho supports Obudu in this election, POI is already a goner. You can check the antecedence, from IMO to Ogun to Lagos and so forth.

I am not after Oshio's support.
None of those men, Odubu or Ize-Iyamu can be loyal to him. That's the truth.

Obudu can be seemed more loyal than POI who has been overly zealous by jumping from one party to another. POI is overly ambitious. And you know Obudu has been with Adams since 2008 or even beyond.

Don't mind him. I watched Kola, the PDP publicity sec on AIT yesterday evening around 19:45, affirming their notice for postponement to INEC and a subsequent nod from INEC to go ahead. The notice was formally filed. Don't mind him. You can verify this if you search his yesterday's political discourse with AIT on YouTube.

It was on FP yesterday and a National Commissioner of INEC said the facts.

Obaseki waiver was approved by the NEC of PDP and he registered in his ward so it can't be questioned..

The bone of contention as regards Ize Iyamu is that he neither registered at his ward nor was his waiver approved by the NEC of APC...NWC unilaterally gave him waiver..

Yap Obudu seems to be more loyal than Ize Iyamu(serial defector)

But Obudu is relatively unpopular despite being a former deputy governor as compared to Ize Iyamu..He will be defeated with ease.

Yeah, Obudu is less popular than POI but these Godfathers don't see it that way. They look out for loyalty in their Godsons. I'm sure Adams will be banking on the federal mights to decimate Obaseki. If he could win POI with an unknown Obaseki who lost in his polling unit, his ward, his LG, his constituency, his district all to PDP, how much more now with a more popular Obudu However if he might still anoint POI, the most popular candidate of all. Even POI can be ironically call Adams' Godfather. He made Adams. He called him from Labour and made a platform for him to run and he eventually became Governor. POI will be so powerful to be tamed by Osho. I believe by now, Osho would want anybody but Obaseki. So he might go for POI whom he's sure than can win Obaseki.
