When we were kids in the early 1990's, I used to remember our parents telling us how things were so good during the 1970's and I would be wondering why things would be so good then only to become bad now. However, recent events in Nigeria have proven that assertion true i.e. the more the years go by, the more we continue to sink down the abyss.

Only a few years ago, prior to 2015, Nigeria was a little manageable but at the moment, everything has deteriorated badly.

Most graduate leaving our universities are going back to their parents houses. Some who still have bouyant parents will further their education to masters level just to extend the dooms day of facing a reality of no jobs. However, they will still ultimately go back to doing petty stuffs like selling items on social media, looking for any means to travel out, even if it means going to Ghana, or even indulging in criminal activities like Yahoo, ritual, kidnapping or prostitution by the females.

If you think Nigeria is terrible now, then wait for 5, 10 or 20 years from now and you will see worse and unimaginable crises.

In the 1970's, how many countries in Africa can compare with Nigeria?

Even South East Asian countries were behind us but fast forward today, not only has all other nations in SE Asia left us far behind, even fellow African countries too are widening their gap on us. And if things continue at this pace, we will soon be so ashamed to identify ourselves as Nigerians abroad.

Today, most graduates have lost hope of ever becoming meaningfully employed. You see many of our youths frustrated, even the few that get work end up being paid 25k monthly!

You see millions jostling for N-power, so they can earn peanuts.

Men in their 30's are not even thinking of settling down. Of course, not because they like barchelorhood but because Nigeria has failed them. Are they going to get married while earning 25k? Can that afford a wedding? Can it afford accommodation? Can it even feed them talk more of feeding extra mouths?

Why don't we as Nigerians act as normal human beings and do the right thing which is to totally restructure this country or completely balkanize it?

Nigeria is currently being raped and abused by all and sundry because no one actually believes in it.

If Arewa people knows that the North is their own, they will protect it by all means. They will either fight Boko Haram passionately or allow them to control their affairs and ultimately there would be peace at the end and they will live accordingly.

If Igbos know that Biafra is all they've got, they will not allow any politician to embezzle state funds. They will chase out corrupt politicians without having to wait for Abuja. They will not allow the sort of robbery that took place in Imo state to happen. Votes will count and ultimately politicians will have no choice but to work or be chased out.

If Yorubas know that Oduduwa is all they've got, they will ensure that their country develops fast. The same Awolowo spirit in the first republic will push them to want to be ahead.

Why do we keep behaving like fools and suffering unnecessarily when we can actually live better lives!!?

For those of us around in the 70s when Nigeria hosted the 2nd All African Games, Asian African & Latin American tournament. 1st Lagos International Trade Fair then of course FESTAC (the festival itself and the international colloquium).

International artists were queuing up to perform in Nigeria. Some of them when on to release songs reflecting on their experiences in Nigeria.
We did not need a visa to travel to the UK, your visa was stamped on arrival. The Naira was stronger than the dollar yes!!

But alas here we are today, in a dump. Maybe if has do with the movement of the capital to Abuja. It seems since then the giant of Africa has gone to sleep.

On a serious note we have no one to blame for the current state of affairs but ourselves.

The Almighty has blessed each man (woman) with 3 pounds of pinkish grey matter called the brain. He does not discriminate all brains function the same way. We are the only species who can change our environment in as much as environment tries to condition us.

Wake up giant of Africa. One small step of progress from Nigeria will pave way for a giant leap of the black race.

Raydos:
Break this country, Break it!!! Break it!!!!

Hausa and Fulani people don't really care about Development, They don't care if they are backward, They are happy as long as it's Hausa ruling nigeria even if the president ain't doing nothing!!

One nigeria can't work, Igbos have to go, Yoruba have to go, Hausas have go, It just can't work!!!!

This country would have been so great if Hausa Think like the Muslims in Dubai, But no, They only care about religion, Billions was wasted by one governor in the north recently to build a mosque, when this same money could have been invested in Building a company that will fetch money for the Citizen and atleast reduce poverty

I'm tired, We really need to split up!!, It just can't work, Hausas and Fulanis are allergic to Development, But we in the southern Nigeria are not

Oduduwa Republic and Biafra needs to work together now and fight for their Freedom

Hausa don't really care, They're okay with the poverty ravaging their lands, look at Hausa and Fulanis dominated countries for instance like Niger republic and Chad, They are also so backward, and Poverty stricken

We need to go

Go oduduwa

Go Biafra

We want Freedom!!!

Your governor's, senetors, reps,.obasanjo, Gej are they northers ? did they develop your region or you are hypocrite and blind to see that north not ur problem. even if you are giving Biafro u will spend 100 of years without any thing to show. it will just be like dirty aba not like Dubai

Really?? Which job have they been doing for the past 66years now with nothing to show for it? Not even a stable Power supply??

I'm finding it funny that some people are so comfortable with this Nigeria despite the harsh economy!!
