Don't even think about that route . There are plans to sandfill most of those swampy areas and creeks . You just can't create silly maps and include other people's territory, you have no respect, that's why no one wants to deal with you and you can't even reflect on yourself ,you just keep boasting that everyone is jealous of you blah blah blah ,you fought and defeated the whole world blah blah blah, No one wants you to be president blah blah blah . Look for another route and build your seaport, that map river you posted is dead on arrival. How dare you even conceive such thought ? I'm irritated.
You don't have any reason to be irritated.. I'm sure you're from cross river and you are well of the truth of that river.. Is easier to sand fill river Niger than that river and you know this, the river is named after your state . There is no reason to be angry.. We're all one.. Besides people use it already to move things from Cameroon

Nice one

Scenic and serene towns in Alaigbo like Afikpo, Abiriba and Oguta need a huge injection of funds to bring them up to international level!

It’s this type of natural environment that foreign tourists like so we need to have a concerted plan to invest in them! We can’t beat the likes of Dubai in the modernist and high-tech attractions so let’s invest in the ones we have!

If you follow the route of the river in Afikpo, you will see that Ebonyi has a Navigable access to the sea through the river. A Massive river port can be built there in the future.

I wish somebody can send this video to the Governors and Commissioners of Agriculture of the entire SE & SS states.

I know wild rabbits are what we call grass cutter or nchi. So it's not in doubt if people prefer this meet in our environment. We also have ample grass that the animal needs.

I wish they can popularize the proper way of rearing rabbits as alternative protein sources as well as creating good-paying jobs. The way we have campaigned until fish farming became an avenue for youths to create employment for themselves.

Ebonyi College of Medicine, 90% completed.

Umahi doesn't confine his architectural style to the boring and predictable norm that most of our governors tend to stick with. This college seems to be quite massive. I hope it's well staffed and equipped.

Some prototype pics of the upcoming Abakaliki int'l airport.

Looks quite expansive and spacious from what the pics show. Can see at least 4 avio-bridges.

Visit to the site of ongoing construction works for Ebonyi int'l airport.

Still working on the foundation of the terminal building, so it's still early in the day to reach conclusions. The airport road is nearly done though, and looks solid and nice from what was shown in the clip.

Watching the last clip posted, one has to admit Umahi has transformed the state capital tremendously! However, there's still much more to do to improve its status, ambience and green credentials. There's no shortcuts to having a world-class city, and it's either we do things right, or we might just as well give up! World-class cities like Singapore and Dubai are unforgiving when it comes to maintaining standards and that's why they're known for their order and cleanliness! Even Kigali is trying in this regard.

There should be quick intervention squads that should go round Abakaliki city on a regular basis to identify and rectify problems and faults noticed in the areas of:

*road infrastructure (traffic lights, street lights, damaged railings and damaged curbs/crash-barriers/medians);

* environmental hygiene (clearing of gutters, sweeping streets, tending to green spots like gardens and lawns, and planting of trees and flowers in all unused open spaces);

*and public order (obeying traffic lights and speed limits, controlling markets and general security)!

These quick intervention squads should have numbers which the public can use to contact them if they're needed on the scene immediately, and this can help nip problems in the bud just as they occur, instead of leaving them to fester and become more difficult to handle with passage of time!

Abakaliki has too much concrete and not as much greenery, so the gov't should try and balance things a bit. Trees need to be planted along all those newly constructed highways to improve their ambience and the roads need to be marked as well!

All in all, i'd say the Umahi admin' has done well!

You'd need a map to navigate this mall...just so you don't get lost. I'm impressed with the level and quality of work done so far, though not really a fan of all these colours. Anyway, let's see the end result....the multi-colour scheme at entrance to the mall doesn't look that bad.

Apart from aggressively pursuing agricultural transformation and agro-based industrial clusters set up in Abakaliki and Afikpo areas, Ebonyi must develop its natural tourist potentials into a revenue driver.

Ebonyi is perhaps the only southeast state with a massive river beach at Ndibe and Uwana in Afikpo area of the state. There is need to develop the beach into a holiday resort location. The state can take the lead by building a 5 star resort hotel in the area and encourage private investors to do same. If they introduce several water sport activities such as boat riding, water parks with water slides, beach volleyball, ferry voyages etc, it will be a favorite holiday destination for honeymoon and tourists who want to enjoy nature. Ebonyi needs to also invest in high quality, worldclass hotels around Ndibe beach to drive massive tourism and travel to Ebonyi as the tourism capital of southern Nigeria.

The presence of Ebonyi international airport within an hour's drive from these locations will assure steady flow of tourists from far and near places. I hope the Ebonyi state government finds a way to upgrade its present hotel near Ndibe beach or build an entirely new one with all the modern design and amenities to meet an international standard holiday destination to drive tourism and traffic at the Ebonyi international airport. Not to mention that this will dramatically boost the economy and development of Afikpo and the entire state.

You are right that Ebonyi has no DIRECT access to the sea contrary to some illiterates views BUT you are too harsh on Ndigbo. You don't take the view of very few people to demonise and denigrate a whole ethnic group.. I COULD ALSO SEE HATRED BURNING IN YOU. That's not good for your health.

Thank you for this video, it is breath taking, Afikpo is now an emerging city and not the old village i used to know.

For the Eastern Government workers in this forum and reading these comments , it is time the Eastern states slow down on Airports and develop the inland water ways that would transport agricultural products from state to state via the rivers that abound in the east at very low costs.
Secondly the massive conversion of all Rivers to have some fishing ponds , this will help safe guard the east from the food war that has once been contemplated and reduce our dependence on the inedible , low quality Beef coming from certain parts of the country ,and which is the major source of disputes and blood shed .

The Imo River trans versing Imo and Abia can be used to move food stuff from Okigwe down to Aba, the Otammiri River originating from somewhere around owerri can be turned into a massive fishing source that wil lprovide fish for the large number of restaurant, hotels and eateries in owerri

Please Umahi you can help with this , able Governor , with this you will get a lot of acceptance and endorsement

Latest update on ongoing works at the new Abakaliki mall.

Wasn't feeling all those multiple, heavy colours at first, but at least there's a bit of neutral colours to help soften the look. It's looking ok i guess. The quality of construction works also looks top notch.

Ongoing works on Ugwu-Inyere flyover.....connecting rural communities for ease of movement of goods and services. This has got to be the highest flyover in the state, though i think it's more of a bridge than a flyover. First pic shows the area when works were about to commence.

I daresay, i'm mightily impressed with how it's all coming together nicely. Wasn't initially a fan of all these multi-colours and lights that Umahi seems to like, but i guess it doesn't look bad they way they've done it here.

Anyone with updates on the airport project? I know the stadium has been put on hold for now, but would like to see how works on the airport are going. They ought to have started on the control-tower by now.

Umahi outdid himself with the large scope of work and attention to detail deployed in constructing the mall, and i’m so impressed! However, i think i speak for most Ebonyians when i ask for a little less of the multi-colour scheme in the airports’ interior decor.

The airport is needed to compliment the mall as both will feed off of each other!
