Bible refs: Colossians 3:12-17, Ephesians 4:25-32

There are many acclaimed believers or men/women of God, who preach the gospel, speak in tongues, some are prayer warriors, praise and worship leaders but are not renewed in the Spirit. The new man is not about how good you preach, speak in tongues, how long you have being in the church, or those things many so called believer brag about as evident among believers of nowadays.

Who is a new man?

The new man is one who has encountered Christ and therefore does not follow the traditions and customs of this world. The new man is that believer, who has no secret life, who is not moved by the wind of human doctrines going on in this generation Christians. But a person who is transformed in the Spirit man, who is no longer govern by the desires of the flesh, material things and earthly riches.

The characters of the new man

 Patience with people and life circumstances
 Does not speak filthy languages even out of jokes
 Always humble irrespective of position and riches
 Kind and considerate towards others, whether related to them or not
 Has no immoral secret behaviors
 Not given to worldly music/songs but hymns, psalms and spiritual songs
 Forgive at all times, and always speaks the truth
 Not given to alcohol and non-medical drugs/substances

Before you go about parading yourself as the new man (believer), first think about your characters. Do you lie or steal? Are you a greedy, jealous or self-centered person? Until God comes first in everything you do (in words and actions) you have not put on the new man, so instead of faking your spiritual life, walk out your salvation with fear and trembling and Grace will guide you through.

The new man is what Apostle Paul said in Galatians 2:20 “it is no longer I that live, but Christ who lives in me”. May God give you the grace to put on the new man, God bless you.

God Himself said His people could drink alcohol. Also, there is no such thing as non-medical drugs. As long as you have to process it in some way, it is medical.
