The murder of Olamide Alli shocked lagosians on the 21st of June 2020. The mother of two was stabbed to death by her fiance, Chris Ndulue, who later committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance.

In response, AGS Tribe (Accessing grants for startups), a women entrepreneurial empowerment community, of whom Olamide was a member, came together on the 23rd of June to fundraise N20million for her children. Within a week they exceeded the set target & were able to raise N22million.

According to the founder of AGS Tribe, Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, Olamide had in the past contacted the organization about her business Pearl Academy, and they worked together to get her a grant to set up her school.

Really , if Alakija, Oprah Winfrey, Patience Jonathan etc where killed at her age and rewarded in this manner, you would have probably said same thing about them not knowing what they were destined or working towards becoming, because they were even way poorer than her at her age.

Money can never be more useful than parental care, tutoring, mentorship and protection. There are lots of things good parents give to their children both, physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc that no amount of money can give them.

It's a great thing the organization has done to help the family, but never say she is more useful to the family dead than when she was alive just because of paltry 22million that is not even up to what people win in big brother show or what some politicians spend on their prostitutes and girl friends or even the cost of a common Mercedes G-wagon car that some people have up to three in their garage.

It is not different. It is the power dynamic that makes you think they are different. If women could, they would tell their husbands.

they should also adress the reason for the murder/suicide so that is doesn't happen to another children otherwise they will keep on organising future fundraisings, fundraising/money isn't everything or would solve husbands and wives/ family disputes.

Not true. How much can you place on human life? How much is a mother's hug and sound counsel worth? Those her kids have lost that.
