The debate for who deserves the EPL best player award for 2019/2020 season is causing serious issues amongst Epl fans, ex-players and sports journalists. Four journalists squabbled over who should win the men’s PFA Player of the Year. To decide who wins, a poll was conducted on Twitter and your winner? Kevin de Bruyne.

Eurosport’s new series ‘The Debate’ saw four writers make a case for four different players before having their arguments picked apart in new vodcast and podcast ‘Game of Opinions’.

De Bruyne (34%) took the spoils marginally ahead of Sadio Mane (32.3%), with Jordan Henderson (20.2%) completing the podium. Last year's actual winner Virgil van Dijk (13.4%) finished last.


THE ARGUMENTS

I'm a Liverpool fan, I have been for a long time now.

But I just have to say that I think Kevin De bruyne deserves the nomination.

He's been phenomenal for city even though city themselves have been less than stellar this season.

To have a man who plays his best in every game isn't common in this day and age.

To sum up I really think Kevin De Bruyne deserves the award.

But alas, Henderson is most likely going to win it because Liverpool won the league.

Even if Kelvin doesn't win, why are people jumping to Henderson and not considering the second placed Sadio?

In a League where the leaders are leading the rest of the pack by 20+ points, I find it absurd and disrespectful that a player from any other team even showed up at all in the conversation.



Just give any of Liverpool core first teamers (Sallah, Mane, Henderson, Alison, Dijk) the POTY, every single one of them is deserving of it with one not above the other and give Arnold Trent the best young player of the year.



Why should De Bruyne be given the award it with his team behind by 20 points when he couldn't win it when his club broke 100 points barrier and even won two consecutive titles?

I have always said that Messi is a rare genius. Who can not only score and dribble but is also a master of pass. The only player,after xavi left, with ability to see things that others can't and make incredible passes.

Then i saw KDB. That guy is a midfield genius. Pass, cross, shot- KDB has it all. Like Messi ( in the midfield department tho)
