Is Nig Not Becoming Too Complex To Govern By A Person? by IDnoble1: 8:18am On Jul 04, 2020
Kindly ignore my poor grammar and expression while reading please.
Is it that Nig is being governed by a wrong system (presidential system) or the nation is now too complex for an (African) person to head?
To me it's like the nation is too uneasy for a person to lead.
If you look into the history of government in Nigeria, you will discover that many leaders of different qualities and capacities have come to try and make a change but couldn't turn things around over the decades, few amongst these leaders with potentials that could change things for the good is Olusegun Obasanjo with a numerous military/ political experience, intelligent Goodluck Jonathan with huge academic qualifications and our current leader, president M. Buhari (the man we used to know as Mr no nonsense)which is trying his best but his best seems not enough for what is needed for Nigerians to live happily.
With all these great men not able to turn things around over the years,is the country not too complex to be governed by a person like that?

It's not too complex for a smart person. Afterall you have state governors, local government chairmen, senators, ministers etc. All you need for a successful leadership is to ensure you have smart, honest, dedicated person in key positions.

Okay, but do you think Obasanjo with huge experience in governance is not smart enough to make meaningful changes then?
Or GEJ was not honest and dedicated enough?

Yes to me, over population is part of the reason why its too complex to govern. Imagine an okada rider with 7 children and wife making 9.

How is he gonna give those children quality education to tertiary level

Every area of profession in this country is overpopulated. From common tertiary institution admission to getting a job.

The population is more than the available resources. Till a lasting solution is found to this, Nigeria will continue to be in a mess where the rich will b getting richer and the poor getting poorer

Not the system.but, our leaders unpreparedness, our quest for material things...one tribe wanting to be richer than the others, youths with no knowledge of politics and nation building venturing into politics.with minds to loot..and we sabi learn by example.

Obasanjo till date is one of the best leaders we've ever had. He did well, and his successors were supposed to build on his foundation and learn from his failures, but unfortunately they were not up to the task.
