A versatile and proven 9 should be your main priority. Your midfield is still top notch... Pity you let Werner slip past to London.

It also makes sense to get a solid back up and partner for VVD. Ruben Dias should fit that bill.
We don't have a creative midfielder that can open up stubborn defense. Our chances comes from the full backs which other teams are learning how to counter. We need plan B too.

17 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa He may be into his late 30s, but Pepe Reina is still alert and can certainly shift when he needs to. He charges out of his box to clear the ball and prevent Sadio Mane charging in for a dig.

20 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa Decent delivery from Andy Robertson but a combination of Villa players get it clear at the near post. Grealish looks to be moving OK, Villa fans will be pleased to read.

20 mins YELLOW CARD Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa First yellow. And it goes to Andy Robertson for a trip that prevents Douglas Luiz getting away into the Reds half.

23 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa You've really got your work cut out for you if you're determined to dislike James Milner. But then who would? We've reached the first drinks break and Villa be absolutely delighted with their work so far. Jack Grealish is doing some serious patch-up work on his left foot. His boot is off, he's cutting away at his sock. Might be a little cut that just needs a bit of padding.

Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa
Mo Salah wants a penalty. He won't get one,
though. The Liverpool forward dances and jinks and
shimmies and turns to try and get away from a host
of Villa players before dropping after contact from
one of them.
I think he knew he was going nowhere, though, and
tried to pull a bit of a fast one. However, it was a
tad clumsy from Douglas Luiz, sticking his leg in.

26 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa Mane is dropping deeper and deeper in search of the ball. Salah remains firmly in the Villa half, though, and misses out on a potential shot when his control lets him down from a low ball from the right.

No one understands Klopp. His choice of player's roles is quite ridiculous. First of all, stop playing Chamberlain in the centre. He has never proved himself worthy of that role. Chamberlain doesn't even know how to start up a play and lacks awareness. And his tackling is zero. Play this man as a sub for Mane on the wing.

Secondly, stop starting Origi. Origi isn't really a football player that's passionate about his career.

And I noticed Klopp's not telling Salah and Mane to drop deep to start up play. How the hell are they going open up spaces to create chances then?

This team is irritating to watch. Klopp makes all these choices that just make you cringe so hard.

Well done to Aston Villa. Not many teams come here and find their goalkeeper hasn't had any work to do after 20 minutes.

29 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa Another Liverpool corner causes a tiny moment of panic as Trent Alexander-Arnold's delivery is allowed to drop near the six-yard line, but a Villa player is closest and hacks away.

Yeah... You are kinda right. That midfield isn't as fluid and free flowing as what we currently see in both Manchester clubs, especially United.

So, who would you put in that middle??! Who would be your 'Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba'??!

Is it just me or has Robertson looked really off the pace since the league restart? Was really poor against City and hasn't really started too well here against Vi

32 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa A shot on goal. It is Douglas Luiz with it, hammering an effort from the edge of the box but straight into Alisson's midriff.

37 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa A Liverpool effort at goal. A rare Liverpool effort at goal. Mo Salah volleys towards the net from an angle but he doesn't catch it right and Reina is down and behind it.

39 mins Liverpool 0-0 Aston Villa Salah has not had a good half. Liverpool attack but his sloppy pass ends it as Villa intercept. This sparks a counter, which ends with a cross that Andy Robertson has to head behind for a corner...

There's nothing top notch about that midfield. It's all muscles and no creativity. Their play is from Full backs to wingers.

Last season ago we were about to buy Bruno Fernandez but as usual, it fell through. If we can just swallow our pride and forgive Coutinho, we can then have a solid midfield. He is even willing to take a paycut. We can also bring back Harry Wilson from loan or use Curtis Jones. This guys can open a tight defense. Keita is not pulling is weight at all. See how Sallah and Mane are going to collect ball to create chance for themselves.
