Honestly, I've been driving mine for the past 8months and there's nothing wrong with the ball joints.

last two weeks a friend too it to Akure from Abuja for 5 days, on his return I noticed some funny rumblings on the legs, I took it to mech and he said it's ball joint issue and that I should change it asap; although the rumbling was coming from the driver side but the mech guy insist I change the two and according to him it cost N3500 each.

The reality of buying 2 ball joints @ 7k and 2k for workmanship made me to rethink, thank goodness i'im working will the biggest Transport company in the country so I took it our workshop and a mech staff checked on it and behold, it wasn't the balljoints at all.
The noise was coming from another socket: my balljoints were very intact!
The guy just took a hammer and hammered the key holding the socket into place and the car was smooth again, the procedure was done in 5 minutes.

Moral of the story: don't trust your mechanic %100, most of them are just looking for a way to rip you off.
If I had paid 9k, the stupid mech would've done the same thing and chop my money while giving me the impression that Honda is bad with ball joints.

Bottom line is, it depends on how you handle you car.
but anyhow you handle it, maintenance is key and dont give your car/borrow someone.
Honda Accord DC is a very good car, no serious issues so far.
