Global coronavirus cases were approaching 13 million yesterday, according to a Reuters tally, marking another milestone in the spread of the disease that has killed more than 565,000 people in seven months.

World Health Organisation(WHO) yesterday reported a record increase in global coronavirus cases, with the total rising by 230,370 in 24 hours.
Icom360News Online Nigeria gathered that the biggest increases were from the United States, Brazil, India, and South Africa, according to a daily report. The previous WHO record for new cases was 228,102 on July 10. Deaths remained steady at about 5,000 a day.

Nigeria’s burgeoning online news platform, Icom360news Online Nigeria reports that the U.S. again broke its own record for new coronavirus cases in a single day, with over 66,600 fresh infections documented on Friday, according to latest data from Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has broken its own record in three out of the last four days, according to the university’s tracker.
