It is no doubt that the northern region of the country will exhaust the eight years presidential rulling by 2023 which will give room for the southern region to rule.

It is no longer news that the race for 2023 presidential contest has commenced with Nigerians already throwing weight behind their individual candidate even when some political juggernauts are hiding behind the media sphere and stretergising underneath, nursing their ambitions.

A non partisan socio-political group Afenifere group is not left out as they empathetically endorse any presidential candidate coming out of All Progressive Congress as long as he is coming from the southwest thereby categorically rejecting Atiku's 2023 presidential bid.

The Publicity Secretary in Ekiti State, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, who spoke on behalf of the group, said the Southwest had the prospect of producing the President after President Muhammadu Buhari’s two terms in office.

“We can’t go into that race with a divided house. Tinubu, Fayemi, Akande, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Gen. Alani Akinrinade, Prof Banji Akintoye, Senator Femi Okurounmu, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) and others must convene a meeting of progressive politicians in the zone so that we can be united. If we have a candidate that is acceptable to both the North and the South, we will surely win.

After making this statement with alot of commitment and passion, the Afenifere group call for united southwest to form a fomindable force to ensure the goal of clinching the ticket is realised in the All Progressive Administration Congress with the support of the northern region.

The rejection of Atiku's presidential ambition is well spelled out by the non- partisan group, Afenifere and perfectly understood by many Nigerians. We must unite and ensure that a southwest clinch the presidential ticket of APC to continue the wonderful development carried out by President Muhammadu Buahri.

Without a doubt the most realistic candidate the APC could field that would enjoy support from all regions of the country is non other than Vice President Osinbajo, and he's proven himself capable on more than one occasion.

So Afenifere have seen the light and know they need to cooperate and embrace our son to become president come 2023, Atiku goes nowhere except he becomes manager in his farm and pure water factory

I am of the opinion that Atiku should retire having tried to contest. His past is still hunting him and dont come with that Buhari contested severally story because they are two different people; one is Mr. Integrity and the other is Atikuloot.

APC should allow a young brilliant, smart, hardworking, able and capable individual champ that will continue the progressive work. We all all know that is. As the Op said "The race to 2023 has started already. My own preferred candidate is PYO. He has what he takes.

Afenifere ,so you know this one when you were supporting Atiku in 2019. Assuming he won that election, will you tell him not to contest second term?

Anyway, all Nigerians have the Democratic right to contest for any position. It is left for Nigerians to count them worthy.

Honestly I will really love him to contest.. The south breeds competent leaders far better than the north..

I believe Prof Yemi Osinbajo will be a suitable candidate for 2023. He is capable of steering the affairs of the country on the right track. The most important thing is a competent candidate but for me, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is my choice.

Whoever is telling Osinbajo that he can leave VP and become president is deceiving him. If he has common sense he will leave and go lecture get more international reputation then maybe come back in 2027 or other time since he is still young. I can see his supporters all over this post. You guys should be more subtle next time.
Yoruba will not produce President.
It will remain in the North. Igbo will be the next closest challenger.

With your small population, you giving yourself hope. Igbo highest slot would be deputy senate President; Non negotiable.

It is no longer news that you Igbo are always envious of the VP; a man who restored sanity in Niger Delta region (Ogoniland), create more modular refiners (6) Across the region, created MSMEs clinics, increase the number of MSMEs/SMEs beneficiaries in Igbo land. Well. Nothing you will do for an Igbo man that will make him appreciative
