I will keep saying this; the only advantage Lagos have over kano is the sea-port. Well I believe with time and by electing the right leaders at every level of government in the state, kano state will surely overthrow Lagos as the real commercial hub of Nigeria.

Lagos also has a literacy advantage and maybe a cultural advantage, being more open to new ideas (and more tolerant) than many parts of Nigeria, especially the north.

The port is not the only advantage.

The ban on imported rugs from Asia has helped local rug manufacturers increased production and create more jobs.

Good intitiative.
But if the government has to ban importation from Asia, then there is more to the factory's story.
Perhaps, it is being subsidized by the government because other countries would prefer the
cheaper Asian products to Nigeria's.

A truly competitive factory does not need government's bans to survive.
