If every Governor builds a University in his village using state resources and calling it a state university, then in the next 25 years all states in Nigeria will have at least 5 state universities - THAT IS INSANE!!!!!

Why can't Nigeria develop 2 or 3 existing universities into World class or even Continental class and attract foreigners. Even if we can't attract Americans, Europeans and Asians, at least we can attract students from Africa and make some money for the country instead of wasting money on creating additional substandard schools.

The Nigerian government know how to waste money on something that is already on ground. What is the real sense of establishing a maritime university in Delta state, when we already gotten Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN at Oron, Akwa Ibom State.
The same way they are trying to convert Auchi polytechnic to Edo university of technology, should also be done in converting MAN to a full fledged university, knowing fully well that MAN had already existed for the past 40 years with adequate facilities.
