The governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike is hardly out of the news. This time he intervened on an issue between the minister of the Niger Delta and the former acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Joy Nunieh.

We learnt that the governor went to the NDDC boss’s house after the news broke that police officers had entered and surrounded her residence.

As seen on video footage, the governor’s convoy was in front the her residence in port Harcourt.

Joy Nunieh had previously accused the minister of sexual harassment and corruption.

The minister in response denied all the allegations publicly.

The River State government had said it would not condone any maltreatment of the ex MD.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Paulinus Nsirim

“We wish to state that while we are not interested in identifying with the present unfolding drama in the NDDC; we will not, however, fail to protect our daughter from actual harm or perceived danger.
