leeds are a very good team to watch, it would be nice having them in epl because i really love that thier beautiful playing pattern and thier swift kinda play just like city and wolves..
i just wish they adapt fast to the competitive epl and they live up to the little bielsa hype and stake thier claim in the epl..

I am super excited for Leeds United for gaining promotion to the EPL. As a child, I watched the last EPL match they played 16 years ago, and after that match, a child about my age back then in the stadium that day after Leeds got relegated, held up a placard with the inscription 'LEEDS TILL I DIE'... When ever I recall that glorious moment I can't but feel happy for my darling club Leeds United for gaining promotion to the EPL. Congratulations lads!... LEEDS TILL I DIE.

A couple of months into the 1998 season, George Graham, who was instrumental in guiding Leeds to qualify for the UEFA Cup left to manage Tottenham Hotspur. This was followed by the club naming David O'Leary, who was assistant manager at the time, as the full time manager.Under O'Leary, United prospered. A period of unprecedented success followed and they qualified for both the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, reaching the semi finals of both competitions.

However, the law of averages soon caught up to them and they weren't so lucky in the years that followed. In an attempted tactical gambit, the then Leeds United chairman, Peter Ridsdale, had taken out large loans keeping in mind potential appearances and strong runs in the UEFA Champions League. However, for two consecutive seasons, they agonizingly missed out on qualification. Along with this failure, they also missed out on the money that could have been used to pay back the exorbitant loan amounts.

The result of this was the selling of players who could have been stars for their club. The first player to go was Rio Ferdinand, to Manchester United, for a record 30 million pounds. It was all dependent on narrow margins as if they had qualified for the UEFA Champions League, they may never have had to sell him and faced subsequent troubles and may have still been a force to reckon with.

Fallouts between manager and Ridsdale became common. And unfortunately, so did player sales. This eventually led to regular sackings of managers. After O'Leary and Terry Venables (ex-England manager) both fell out with Ridsdale over transfer matters and were sacked, Peter Reid was appointed manager (Ridsdale resigned from the board). Leeds managed to avoid relegation by the skins of their teeth in the penultimate game of the season.

This was only an indication of what was to come in later years, however, and it turned out that it was in no way a possible low point. The nadir was yet to come. The 2003-04 season saw a sacking, sale of major club assets and a relegation. Leeds were faced with worse situations in their Championship stint. They sacked many of their managers due to poor results, went into administration and got relegated to League One.

However, for the past four years Leeds have been a part of the Championship and are currently owned by Eleonora Sports Ltd. under the long pending Presidency of Massimo Cellino.

One thing that affected them was squad depth.Do they have the money to invest in the squad?Ofcourse not.Even thier coach is having issues with the board concerning transfers already.

Many might go to better their life, it is left for the ones remaining and upcoming players to evolve into something spectacular. This can only be achieved by individual player development and team spirit propagated by a set of motivators in the team.
Their ability to keep fresh physically and alert mentally is key. Most of this can only be done by individual player.

Then came a coach that did not like the three of them and Yeboah and Gaudano left, while Okocha spent some time on the bench.

There was a documentary about that problem back in the day. Peter Ridsdale and David O'leary were trading accusations.

The problem was that Peter Ridsdale spent with the belief that they would qualify for the Champions League every year and he blames David O'leary for not qualifying and denying them the financial windfall that comes from the Champions League, but David O'leary said that there was no way that any manager could guarantee that they would appear in the Champions League every year.
