The country’s Minister of information, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed this when meeting with journalists earlier today. He said that the President was well and in good spirits and preparing to resume work tomorrow.

The president had decided to go into 14 days of self-isolation after it had been confirmed to him that certain persons in his inner circles had been infected with the novel corona virus disease.

The Presidency said that the decision was taken based on the advise of the president’s physicians. The isolation was largely a precautionary measure as the president himself had tested negative for COVID-19.

Even during isloation, the President had been working. Last Sunday, he was seen in a video holding meetings with his ministers and other government appointees via video messaging platform zoom.

“The president has during the period been working from the Presidential Villa at the Jubilee House. He is expected to from Monday, attend to business from his office at the Jubilee House. Additionally, he will attend to some engagement outside Accra during the week,” Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said.

In spite of the negative test result for the President, he opted to take a 14-day isolation as was best for himself and those who worked around him.
