Why I Left PDP For APC - Dogara by Newstrumpet4: 8:55pm On Jul 26, 2020
The former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has given reason why he dumped Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his resignation letter addressed to Bogoro 'C' ward Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Dogara cited absence of good governance under the administration of Bauchi state government, Bala Mohammed whom he said he assisted to become a governor in the last governorship election.

The immediate past speaker noted that asking questions about these issues in his state could bring about the question of disloyalty if he was to remain with the party.
He was elected speaker on the platform of APC in 2015. Following the build-ups to 2019 general election, he defected to PDP alongside his loyal supporters. He won re-election as a lawmaker on the platform of PDP but could not contest for the speakership as PDP were the minority in the National Assembly.

The news of his defection to APC was received with cheers from President Buhari.

According to the head of APC's interim management, Mala Buni, Mr. Buhari was pleased with the defection.

His statement reads:

“He (Buhari) welcomed him. He’s happy with the development. That’s what he’s looking for. We are rebuilding the party and these are the steps we are taking towards rebuilding the party,” the APC head said.

Someone said the only party we have in Nigeria is APPDPC.

All Progressives People's Democratic Party Congress.

No morals, No ideology.

If the permutations goes wrong before 2023, he'll still defect back to the PDP.
