A mother and her son had a close shave with death when a man in his late forties by name, Douglas Marks, shot at them for not observing the social distancing rule. According to the report made to the police department, the woman and her son who were visiting Miami Beach from New Mexico were confronted by Douglas for not keeping to the social distancing guidelines. The report added further that their attitude instigated Douglas to ask them to leave the hotel before bringing out a black gun which he shot 'several' times in the lobby. According to the report, no one was injured in the shooting but Marks was later arrested by Miami Beach police. The accused has allegedly confessed to the shooting. However, he told detectives that he fired a shot when he observed some movements behind him and also asked the receptionist to call 911.
