Three people have been arrested and charged in a massive Twitter breach earlier this month that affected dozens of high-profile users.

Graham Ivan Clark, 17, was arrested on Friday morning in Tampa, Florida after a federal investigation zeroed in on him, and faces 30 felony charges that will be prosecuted in state court.

The Hillsborough State Attorney's Office called Clark the 'mastermind' of the July 15 breach, which saw famous Twitter accounts hijacked and used to plead for donations of bitcoin to a wallet controlled by the attacker.

Authorities say that the hackers behind the attack netted more than $100,000 in bitcoin through the illegal scheme.

Also on Friday, federal prosecutors announced charges against two alleged co-conspirators: Mason 'Chaewon' Sheppard, 19, of Bognor Regis in the United Kingdom, and Nima 'Rolex' Fazeli, 22, of Orlando, Florida.

1.They have revealled the three teenagers names. And the case is going to court.

2.CIA, FBI, NSA etc can recruit tons of experts from their academic sector and their legitimate sectors without going to the illegitimate side.

Infact law enforcement and secret agencies rarely if ever hire people like these guys. As for the private sector...they can employ and pay talent far higher than what illegitimate activities can.

Also the fact is that if the FBI was able to track them down....that means that the experts working for the FBI better pass these three youngsters.(They couldn't even cover their tracks online or otherwise).

You need to read more widely on the web. There is a lot of news on fraud and other crimes commited by europeans, and other people from other countries. Indeed one article I read on online fraud talked more about Russia and company.

And speaking of Russia....one hacker in Russia took over a company website and electronic database and was asking for millions of dollars before he handed it over. Widely reported on several major newsites. No Nigerians

Twitter has said the hackers used a phone "spear phishing attack" to trick Twitter employees to turn over information that gave the attackers access to internal systems.

The Florida prosecutors on Friday added new detail about how exactly the scheme worked: Clark allegedly presented himself as a member of Twitter's IT team to a Twitter employee, and convinced that employee to hand over company credentials, which Clark used to get into the company's customer service portal.

They DO report extensively on foreign crimes.Also, they do report extensively on online fraud commited by other countries. Nigeria is just a very tiny amount of the fraud related news self. Hushpuppi only got widely reported because he went after US and some UK companies. If he had gone after say Russian companies, they won't have reported him. Same for Invoctus Obi who was even based in the US, and many others....

Infact, go and read any American news website, and you would think that the US is a crime ridden country self.

The problem is you get your news from Nigerian sites only. And Nigerian sites report news they think would be of importance TO Nigerians, not to oyinbos.

Also, Google and other online news algorithims steer you towards Nigerian related news as per your location when browsing.
