For over 50 years now, the Igbos have endured a lot of embarrassments and slurs thrown at them by the Ikwerre clan. Despite all these unwarranted and undeserved attacks by the Ikwerre, Igbos saw them as a misguided brother who was brainwashed by enemies.

At a point, it became shocking at how they will go to extreme lengths to concoct lies and fallacies just to sabotage and humiliate us, while we kept extending the olive branch with the hope that they will realize their folly but it has become obvious that they're now misconstruing that for weakness. It has now become expedient for us Igbos to wepu obi na azu, ma were iwe mee ndi iberibe a ezigbo ihe ha n'agaghi echefu echefu.

Anyi eriala nsi, ma nara kwa nkpari n'aka ndi uchu a n'enweghi ebe ha ruru anyi.

So here are the 7 reasons why we Igbos must act now for posterity sake.

1. Abandoned property
When the war ended in 1970, the Igbos were totally down in every aspect. Our economy was wiped out. Millions dead. Our cities destroyed. In essence, we were at our lowest nadir in recorded history and had nothing to fall back on. Now, this was the time, the Ikwerres decided to attack us for no just cause. They declared Igbo properties abandoned and took them! As Igbos were returning back, they were shocked to discover that Ikwerres (with the support of Nigerian government that was still looking ways to humilate us further) had taken over their properties. Such a thing has never happened anywhere before. Even the Northerners we fought against didn't seize our properties in their cities and neither the Yorubas or anywhere else but it was the Ikwerres that did such evil against Igbos. Till today, people's hard earned properties were never returned and they never appologized.

It is only the worst enemy without conscience that could do this.

2. They are seriously demarketing us in the Niger Delta

Many Igbos are yet to understand the games, this minute minority called Ikwerre is playing. These people are dangerously trying to erase anything Igbo in Rivers State particularly and Niger Delta in extension. The hate they are preaching against Igbos is making it difficult for other Igbo groups to openly identify with us. You now see many Igbo villages answering ethnic nationality, even those whose villages were divided into two and pushed into SE and SS respectively. You will see the ones in the SE answering Igbo while the ones in Rivers are now answering ethnic nationality with claims of Bini identity.

If we allow these to continue without making an example out of the Ikwerre, all other Igbo communities will see no advantage identifying with us.

3. They claim that we need them to have access to the sea

They've sold this dummy for a long time now. It is not uncommon to hear them claiming that Igbos are trying to associate with them because we are in desperate need of access to the ocean.
Lol, this is quite laughable. On the face value, it may seem so to the unsuspecting and unfortunately, many have believed this lie. However, the fact, as can be proven with a critical study of the Atlas will indicate that Southern parts of Abia, around Obuaku are closer to the Atlantic ocean in nautical miles than Ikwerre land. In addition, an all year round navigable river flows directly into the ocean without having anything to do with Ikwerre. Even the Ikwerre are totally landlocked without any of their community lying on the coast.

4. They claim we need their oil and gas resources
This is another lie that has been told severally. How many oil wells or gas reserves are there in Ikwerre land? Can you compare it to what is available in other Igbo communities especially around the Imo, Abia and Rivers boundaries? The truth is that Ikwerre has nothing to offer Igbos more than we already have in abundance.

5. They celebrate our enemies

Recently, Wike in trying to tell everyone how much they hate us, went ahead to name a stadium after Gowon. The same head of state that santioned the blockade of Biafra that resulted in the death of millions of Igbos, especially children. This is akin to Palistan naming a stadium after Hitler. What message do you think they will be passing to the Jews and how do you think the Jews will react to it?

Come to think of it, what exactly did Gowon do for them to warrant naming a stadium after him? If they wanted to celebrate a Northern personality, then there are many in the North Wike could have used but no, he chose Gowon because he wants to pass a message to the Igbos.

6. Ikwerre needs Igbos more than we need them
I have really looked at all these brouhaha about Ikwerre and I was shocked to realize that we have stomached unnecessary insults from a minute minority that has nothing tangible to offer us. They've been riding on our numbers to get ahead of others in Rivers State yet they will still turn around to insult us.
Once we can successfully ostracize and isolate them effectively, other Igboid communities in Rivers State will now have the incentive to identify with us and also enjoy the advantage we will give them.

7. The worst enemy is the enemy within

Allowing the Ikwerres or even seeing them as brothers when they consider us as enemies is a dangerous thing to do. Now, I will give this analogy. A man has many children, and all of them keeps bringing honours to the family name except a Black sheep that brings nothing but shame and dishonour to the family. Everyone has tried to talk sense into him but he refuses adamantly and keeps trying to destroy family members in one way or the other. A wise family will totally disown such child and make sure he doesn't come close otherwise he will succeed someday in achieving his aims of destroying the family.

Any Igbo that celebrates or even identifies with the Ikwerre or their sons and daughters needs his or her head reexamined.

Nobody is disgracing anyone here. We are only trying to create awareness on the fact that we must know who our real enemies are and totally ostracize them. Many Igbos still regard them as Igbos, so it through such awareness that we will forever cut them off.

We should tell the world that we have nothing to do with them at every given opportunity, be it in real life, Facebook, nairaland, Twitter, Market associations etc.

Don't underestimate the power of the social media. Some of the people we discuss here even visit here too. Ohanaeze is doing all those things because nobody is questioning it. The social media is powerful enough to change people's perspectives and the more we build on it, the more we are able to shape opinion and influence things.

If anyone should be bothered about all these it should be them and not us.

Asari - Yeebos are Ijaw slaves...

Wike - Ikwerre are not yeebos.

Stop this inferiority complex. You guys are considered conquered slaves.

Fix your 5 states and earn your freedom from slavery everywhere you go...

Ikwerre would still outsmart you and take your slot.

Yorubas have been the only ones tolerant of your antics. Without yoruba, every Igbo male would be a houseboy and the females prostitutes.

Kanu said 99% on that last point sha.... who am I to argue with your lord and master? undecided

People from southeast here, should stop opening threads about them. When you notice a idiot trying to make you say unnecessary bad thing about them, just avoid that thread.

It is embarrassing and hurts to be defending ourselves against people who don't wish well for us and the same time fighting people who should be our neighbor(if not our brother).

Just pray to God for Biafra; he won't forsake us.

By the grace of the almighty, if we get it we will diplomatically go to our brothers who found themselves in south south and asked them to join us.

If they say no, let us just leave it like that and focus on ourselves.

Leave Ikwerre matter, let it leave you.

Most people opening threads about them are just bastards who wants us to hate them and they, in turn, will hate us.

We are trying to separate ourselves from this country; we shouldn't force others to be with us.

We need a country where anyone you meet in the street will tell you "I love my country".

Not a country where some people will make reference to when they earlier told you they are not the same with you, when things are not going well with the country.

Ikwerre just like Ijaw will produce President of Nigeria before Igbo even though it's not really an issue for us.

Rotimi Amaechi is more popular, respected, better than all Igbo politicians and will win more votes from Nigerians than any Igbo politician to become president and don't be surprise to see the North endorse Ameachi in 2023 and he will win in all Igbo states.

While we ikwerre people are strengthening our affinity with our Benin ancestral home and developing our land, you igbos don't want to respect yourselves and
think about how to develop your states with our free Niger delta oil money you receive as monthly allocations.

We have good Igbo friends and in-laws but if you igbos brainwashed by Nnamdi Kanu push we Ikwerre people to take up arms against you migrants in Port harcourt, it Will be very bloody oh! Even your igbo daughters we have bought from you as wife's will not safe you.

Ikwerre are very loving and accomodating people, but do not take that for granted, we are not people you can joke with. We are fearless and strong, we can never be intimated. Even during igbo dominated eastern region govt we stood our grand and maintained our bini ancestral history and fought for the creation of old Rivers State.

Our Ogbakor Ikwerre organization was established before Biafra war. We know our history that Is why Wike named the Port Harcourt stadium after Gowon and renamed Aba Road to Yakubu Gowon road thanking him for listening to our cry to create old Rivers State.

Those who said we should ignore Ikwerres are mistaken.
Silence is not always golden. There is always a time to break silence and now is the time for it.

Igbo populace have to be enlightened about he Ikwerre menace.
And obviously there is no making omelette without breaking eggs. So yes, it will mean making Ikwerre popular for few minutes, but it will also mean enlightening many of our people in the dark.

If you are an Igbo and find this thread uncomfortable, then you need to take a deep look at yourself, because you are either an impostor or a minority asslicker.

Amaechi is a nobody. And we will disgrace him if he tries to impersonate Ndiigbo.
Amaechi cannot even win elections in his native Rivers state, but he is popular in your dreams.

Nobody in SE will vote Amaechi and I doubt he will get votes in SS going by Edwin Clark recent statements.
The North or any serious political party will never pick Amaechi, because he offers nothing politically. He is not Igbo and he has just 3.5LGA to deliver. The only way Amaechi stands a chance is by impersonating Ndiigbo, which is why the fraud is claiming Igbo recently, but Igbo nationalists will so heat up the polity and make it impossible for any Ikwerre impostor to claim Igbo without being disgraced between now and 2023. We are just starting. This is just 2020, expect more from us. This campaign will be unrelentless from now to 2023.

You need to read up on the creation of new Rivers state and the role Ukiwe and Zik played.
You are not Igbo and the days you got to be opportunist Igbos and get Igbo help or support are gone. Now all you will get from us is hate and resentment, exactly what you have always offered us for 50yrs now.

You will not do anything in PH. If you try nonsense you will not survive it.
You are just 3.5LGA surrounded by other minorities who want to see you cut to size too. I would advise you thread carefully. Your pride and hubris will be your fall.
