Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri insists his future is not dependent on the result of their Champions League last-16 clash against Lyon on Friday. The Italian champions face Lyon trailing 1-0 from the first leg before the COVID-19 lockdown. There has been speculation that Sarri could lose his job if he fails to guide Juventus to the quarter-finals – despite having led them to the club’s ninth successive Serie A title. But former Chelsea boss Sarri threw down the gauntlet to the club’s directors to avoid looking “like amateurs” by sacking him as a knee-jerk reaction should Juventus be eliminated by their French opponents. “I don’t think my future is riding on this game,” asserted Maurizio Sarri in quotes reported by the BBC. “I think I’m dealing with high-level directors.
