Black mentality with religion....misplaced priority!
Original owners of religion are dumping it, we are embracing it the more...this is serious!
If the funds for the project had been diverted to industrialisation, employment will be generated.
In a Country where government is totally unresponsive or irresponsible, everybody looks up to sky daddy for hope. Rather than focus on making governance functional, we are building worship centres that will further enslave us.
We look up to sky daddy for solution to our problems while the owners of christianity believe in hard work to get solutions. White folks have successfully made us lazy and unproductive, yet, we are still glued to thier religion.
Ha, what a black race!!!

That is Cross Rivers... not Akwa Ibom. they are not same.

Why are you so narrow minded and myopic?
Is Nigeria part of the US for Bill Gates to spend so much money fighting polio here?
Or that aids we receive from the Americans is because Nigeria is the 51st state of the US

Total waste of money.. The funds should be diverted to secure those innocent children labeled witches and not for this
Not waste. There's physical development and there's human development. They go pari passu. Credit be given to the governor.

Akpabio spent 8 years in office, but he did not build 1 single classroom.

Sadly, this aimless, misplaced priority and misguided governor is also useless and grossly clueless.

It's a sad shame that this is the richest state in nigeria and the 2nd largest debtor state in Nigeria.

SMH.

Don't say what you don't know, Akpabio renovated all the primary & secondary schools in Akwa Ibom during his tenure, that's a fact!
It's only this present administration that has not done much in the education sector. That's why most of this schools are dilapidated because no maintenance and repairs

That's nice

The state is doing well

But all I can say is that igbos have more human development than other regions just that their government is sloppy

Did Akpabio also recruit teachers and other workers for the built schools?
How many? Hundreds or thousands?
Are nearly all Akwa Ibom children in government schools as they are in Britain, US and other developing countries of world standard
I thought that primary schools are the responsibilities of the local government. Do you know why Akpabio built primary schools? Was he so jobless?

I feel the churches in Akwa Ibom is enough, I don't see any need for this per say. The money could be diverted to building research centres, laboratories, and even industries to boost the states GDP.

Black people! Worship center is still their priority.

While in reality, their only true worship are their, usually ill-gotten, physical possessions.

What business does government have committing such massive funds into religious infrastructure while millions of people remain unemployed and hopeless?

I will keep saying it, the misplaced priorities and gross ineptitude of leaders, particularly at the state and LGA levels, in Nigeria remains the clog in the wheel of her accelerated development.

Once we start to effectively and constructively hold LGA and state administrators responsible for their stewardship, Nigeria will get on the track for rapid development.

It amazes me as an engineer how newly constructed roads no longer last up to 3 years, especially across the South south, and in Delta state in particular. It's indeed a shame!

THe hypocrites will not se anything wrong in govt spending money to develop a religious center now, just wait it happens in a different state with different religion. That's when their brain will remember that there supposed to be a separation of govt and religion.

The level of hypocrisy in this country is simply astonishing.

Rubbish project, wasting tax payers money on a useless and rubbish project.

It seems you're not in Nigeria to ask if primary schools are responsibilities of LGA, is LGA working in Nigeria?
Akpabio recruited enough teachers. Ever wondered why Igbo indegenes always come to write waec in A'IBOM? It's because all fees we're paid for by the government both for indegenes and non indegenes

Let's leave other things and talk about schools in Akwa ibom.
I still see little kids carrying tables on their head to school. The same government building for the Lord cannot provide chairs and tables for children. Most kids sit on the floor and this ain't happening in remote areas o, this is happening right in Uyo....

Of all the things to do with money, it's a worship centre? A worship centre? For what?

Sad part is the people of the state don't even see any thing wrong in spending so much money on something so useless. They will so defend their governor on this one because he is building for their Lord.. They are soo religious and ignorant...

So Akpabio was a failure for not letting the LGAs work
What was the teacher:students ratio at the time Akpabio left? Up to world standard?
