The Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Oke, is dead, Daily Independent has gathered.

Oke, who is serving his second term in the council died early Wednesday, 12 August, 2020 from complications arising from COVID-19.

Sources said that Oke, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been sick for sometime but recovered, only for the sickness to relapsed late last week due to the stress he went through during the last Sallah break where he was reported to have exposed himself again.

He was rushed to an unnamed hospital on Friday where he eventually died this morning.

He did a lot of awareness on COVID-19 in the council during his lifetime, according to residents in the council.

Those against what he(OBJ) said are those in similar business or those who benefitted from the pains Kashamu caused others!!!

No matter what, OBJ shouldn't have been the first person to send a public condolence message of that sort. His message had nothing to do with Kashamu's drug deals, rather it had to do with their political differences. Both of them are from Ogun state and had legal tussle over the years. He should have kept his mouth shut than stir up anger just immediately after the man passed, forgetting that Kashamu has family members and loved ones grieving at that moment.

If only people speak out the way OBJ did, maybe, just maybe this world will be filled with lesser evil!!!

OBJ didn't speak AGAINST a good person! So why not be good if you want people to speak good about you when you are gone
