As said above. Nigeria and its regions would have been better off, had it been Aburi accord was followed to its letter. 54years later and we are still suffering from one one " villain-fied " man saw as its problems.

there is always a price to be paid for an ideology. while alot of people died which was not the original idea, the ideology was bigger than 3m people. go to the nigerian army museum and see the documents for yourself or go to google and do a search and make your findings. nobody owes you any form of documentational proof when you are too myopic and narrow minded to see the truth for yourself.

The North and its puppet, Gowon, did not want to implement the Aburi accord because it deprived them of their intention of being masters of Nigeria. So they went ahead and broke the accord thinking that everyone would fall to their feet and become their slaves. They never knew that Igbos under Ojukwu would rise up and fight for their freedom.

For having the heart to rise up and fight for the freedom of his people when others chose the easier option of becoming slaves of the North, for having the heart to rise up and fight despite the incredible odds against him, Ojukwu is a hero any time any day.

The only people who call Ojukwu a coward are those who regret they did not kill him in 1970 so that they can be laughing today
