MsAllison: Please read again, but very slowly and attentively the second time. The news says they went on strike because a medical practitioner was attacked by a patient not because of any iss with the state government. |

If you say you are a health worker or association of health workers and you kill my family member this way, several health workers will go with him/her to serve him/her in heaven/hell. I won't talk nor shout, but I will take action. |

too bad, I've always argued that when doctors go on strike they will still find a way to keep those ones on admission alive, while the other health workers will just remove everything and go away. sadly the doctors are usually the ones that get bashed for going on strike, when other health workers declare strike nobody will say anything. |

This is a plain case of culpable homicide I guarantee the family will win the case in any court, but the need a private investigator to identify those on duty that switch off the ventilator that day. |

**PRESS RELEASE BY ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS, UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN TEACHING HOSPITAL* . *RE* : *HEALTH WORKERS STRIKE IN KWARA : FALSE AND MISLEADING REPORT BY CHANNELS TV** . The Association of Resident Doctors, UITH remain committed to the service to humanity and mindful of the health of Nigerians. With the erroneous representation of facts and perceived misinformation of the public by Channels TV on the 25th Aug; 2020 on the unfortunate demise of Mr Olusola Olagunju, we are compelled to set the records straight. Association of Resident Doctors in UITH, Ilorin were not on strike when the unfortunate incident happened. We don't operate nor have any access to the control of the electricity supply to the hospital and equipments and we never chased nurses out while carrying out their duties. Channels TV and her agents decided to muddle two unrelated stories and events for reasons best known to them possibly for their sensational attention- seeking journalism. The interview that was granted to Channels TV by the President of the Association was strictly intended to admonish the members of the public seeking medical care in the hospital on the need to always channel complaints about hospital service to the right quarters instead of resorting to assault on doctors while in the line of duty. We use this medium to reinstate, as a matter of public enlightenment and orientation, that dissatifed clients/patients/relatives of the hospital can always approach the SERVICOM unit to register their displeasure instead of resorting to verbally and many atimes physically assaulting health care workers on duty as this has led to recurrent distruption in the delivery of healthcare services in various hospitals in Nigeria. The ARD UITH therefore urges the public to disregard these reports as being paraded by Channels TV as it doesn't represent the account of what happened nor in any way represent our ideals as an Association. We state unequivocally that our members remain committed to their by statutory responsibilities of always delivering quality health care service to the good citizens of Nigeria and Kwara State in particular. President ARD UITH |
