They should just name it Northern Nigeria Bar Association as contained in the body of their statements which says they are already soliciting for support from Senior colleagues. Lol

But to be candid in as much as I don't fully agree with the NBA rescinding on the invitation of kaduna state governor because I believe that should have been a good opportunity for anyone to express their opinion however whatever discontent this might have brought among lawyer's should have been managed by consultations,deliberations and appeasing aggrieved lawyesrs at their various state meetings before the commencement of this NBA conference.

Anyway I believe the new incoming president (Mr Olumide Apata ) is taking note of all this because I know this is the starting point Uniting varying factions of the NIgerian Bar Association.

God bless Nigeria

You don't like an NBA dominated by southerners, you created yours. Awesome.

Some group of people don't like a country dominated and ruled by cretins, but you’d rather kill them all than let them go.

What is cognitive dissonance again?

The matter "tire" me. They're unable to tolerate small injustice yet they condemn people marginalized and oppressed over the years for asking for a separate country.

Better we are progressing, sooner or latter northern Nigeria would cave out from Nigeria.

*Parasite is also claiming importance

And why have they not caved out ?
Oil revenue.

If this Oil money was coming from the north, they would have been long gone.

No wonder B. A .T said he doesn’t believe in one Nigeria.

That's Wonderful.....I think we are getting it right in a way in this country.

We need ..........

Christian bar association CBA,
Muslims bar association (MBA) and
traditional bar association, TBA....

We need to follow issues perspectively in this country..

The different association will afford members to practice according to law, religion and rules.

If religiously it is riddled with nepotism, we can try geo-political zones formations of bar associations...

If all these fail, we can conviently move to ethnic formations of bar associations which is..

Kanuris bar association
Yorubas bar association
Igbo bar association
Hausa bar association
Fulani bar association
Ijaw bar association
TIV bar association
Idoma bar association
Efik bar association
Ibibios bar association and the rest....

A way to Balkanize Nigeria abi? U do well,trying to form your Biafra by default, una no deh miss opportunity grin

Foolish idea by acclaimed learned professionals. In as much I disagree with NBA for disinvicted E-rufai. This kind of reaction is too outrageous.

For those who think that Nigeria unity is non negotiable, should watch this.
There was one law school for Nigeria before, but today, it has been fragmented. Lagos state was the federal capital before, to accommodate the interest of the North, it was shifted to Abuja.
What ever that didn't favour the North, must be pulled down.
I pray, that this be allowed to stand. Nigeria is on paper, a secular nation, but Sharia is operation, at the same level with the nation's constitution and you said it is well in Nigeria. Ok now.

I wish they can pull out of Nigeria and form there own country. This country is deeply divided, why are we not telling ourselves the truth?

They are addicted to crude oil revenue. Not knowing that each region can live separately and buoyantly without Oil money.

We must tell ourselves the truth. We are better off alone than this fake union

Like the Northern Nigeria christian association that lasted for few months after the inauguration of Buhari until the Fulani/Famers conflict in the North started

The NNBA would not last for more than a year. No they say it's New Nigerian bar association because I believe they have some disgruntled elements elsewhere who are still angry about the last NBA election of Olumide Apkta

Oil deh your head, must their president be SAN? Nonsense, playing politic with noble profession,what am I even saying sef, no b few weeks back NMA members behaving like a street urchins ,breaking each others head over an election within themselves.

... but I am sure religion and tribalism is eating us up badly. In my view, unity is paramount!

Looking forward for:
Christian Bar Association;
Traditional Worshippers Bar Association;
Atheists Bar Association;
Northerners Bar Association;
South Bar Association;
East Bar Association;
West Bar Association;

Add more... Lol

On a serious note, I have always espoused regional Supreme Courts, then a final overriding Supreme Court having exceptional jurisdiction, particularly in Constitutional matters.

Seriously, the incoming President has a lot to do to unite warring factions.
