If the reason you’re supporting OUK is because you’re being paid, then it’s fine. But if you’re not being paid , then you’re an enemy of the good of this country. You are pushing for a thief, robber of destiny to become the President of Nigeria. May God judge you. Infact people of Abia state will stone you to death for this
but obj came from prison to rule Nigeria in 1999 and heaven didn't fall cheesy

This is a very eye opening thread for me. I have always wondered why Igbos dislike Yorubas with such venom, never really got to wrap my head around so much hate against a people that don't even notice you. The Civil War was largely caused by Igbo and hausa palaver, yet I notice Igbos naturally choose/prefer to blame Awo for their woes. Jonathan losing in 2015 was largely because the north voted against him, yet the Igbos rather hold the grudge against the SW. Why? Why this massive enny against a people that don't even notice you, a people that have always accommodated you. Every time you guys abuse Yorubas call them all sort of derogatory names. Ewedus, cowards, dirty etc. Yet Yorubas hold no grudge against you. Perhaps it's the reason they keep progressing whilst you guys keep regressing. We have had about 20years of uninterrupted democracy since 1999,Yoruba has been President for 8 years and vice president for over 5 years. They have done very well for themselves. They supported Jonathan in 2011 he sidelined them. They didn't issue threats here and there they simple went to the drawing board under the able leadership of the Asiwaju of Lagos Bola Tinibu and they returned as number 2 by 2015. I can go on and on but let me end with this advice. Igbos need to stop hating. The hatred is eating you deep and making you people lose out on everything. Look at what you have now reduced yourselves to, mere spoilers. Is it not a shame that a big ethnic group like urs is reduced to mere spoilers bragging that "at least no yoruba man will get it". How can that now be considered an achievement for a serious minded people. Yorubas have done very well for themselves and their region without displaying hate towards anyone. You may want to copy a little of their sagacity and political savviness. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has paid his dues politically he is about to reap now. No evil, hatred filled mind can stop him
Only God can stop him. In any case beyond Tinubu, we have pastor Osinbajo contesting as well plus Gov Fayemi where are you own contestants. Your pride, arrogance and ego will never let you guys learn. Las Las you guys will be alright!

Lol which of the yorubas ? Fami kayode or tinubu or osibanjo ? ...u can't even get your regional APC under one room for 30 min without fighting and u want to talk about wining

Which region go vote for una abeg ? Name the region ....I hear una sat lawal na tinubu boy ? Lol he go leave his childhood friend support politicians they all know wants absolute power he just met in 2014 ?

Bros relax yorubas stand absolutely no chance in any party u can't even get vice even self
These are Yorubas that can contest and win the election. Tinubu, Osinbajo, Fashola, Aregbesola, Fayemi, Gbajabiamila, Amosun.
To say who'll vote Yorubas is just a misplaced statement, it's much more befitting for you people. Go all over the internet and see how your brothers are insulting all and sundry in Nigeria. You think there won't be any implication of such behaviour?

Haven't said that, You know SW is MUCH MORE SELLABLE THAN SE.
Our voting strength is firstly an advantage to us THAN YOU EASTERNERS.
Second, The three Northern States will vote Yoruba candidate over Igbos.
We'll gerner 40-45% votes from SS. Even in Ebonyi and Cross Rivers State, we'll gerner votes to some reasonable extent.

About Lawan, a friend won't support his friend when he knows his friend is going to a dead end.

Also, he'll prioritize his own ambition over KALU'S. He won't betray Tinubu that HELPED HIM IN HIS CURRENT POSITION. He's even the first person to start canvassing for Tinubu (Yoruba) presidency since last year.

One thing your are not still Understanding is, we're not doubting the fact that the 2023 presidential ticket of APC is for Yorubas. TAKE NOTE.

TWO BROTHER CONTRIBUTED MONEY TO BUY A BICYCLE, THE FIRST HAS RODE UNDER THE WATCHOUT OF THE SECOND. IT'S NOW THE TURN OF THE SECOND TO RIDE, THOSE THAT CASTIGATED THEM FROM INCEPTION OF THE CONTRIBUTION ARE NOW WILLING TO RIDE BEFORE THE SECOND BROTHER. Even the first brother won't accept.
Surf the internet now, those who're Even campaigning for Tinubu are majorly Hausas and not Yorubas.

LASTLY, APC will never give their ticket to Easterners, it's Political harakiri. Even PDP won't despite the Easterners contribution to the party What they can get is VP slot. WE DON SEE UNA FINISH

Lol...you’re so poor trying to make a point.
OBJ was imprisoned by a world renowned military dictator he wasn’t convicted of corruption. You can ask your elders who were adults at the time for further explanations, maybe they’ll tell you the difference between “detention” and “imprisonment”.

Lol. The writer is just disturbing himself, the Ibos themselves ain't interested in running for Presidency for obvious reasons. They're more interested in ensuring that the coveted seat doesn't go to the SW, that's why their focus has been on the likely party to field a SW candidate - APC. Talk of people who have no ambition, but would rather act as spoilers to those who do.

This is an attempt to sow seeds of division in PDP and igbos should be careful not to fall for it. Atiku is what Nigeria needs. Igbos will be compensated for their loyalty at the appropriate time. We must think Nigeria first. Tribalism will not move us forward in this country.

Shamelessness.

So, was kanu convicted of corruption undecided or his sentence was quashed by a competent court of law?

The problem with you people is ignorance.

Bukola was born in England so he was born with British citizenship, he had no choice in the matter, he did not voluntarily acquire citizenship of another country, he did not swear allegiance to Britain. Ngozi deliberately chose to become an American citizen and in doing so she swore allegiance to America. It is part of the process.

It is there in sections 66,107,137 and 182 of the constitution.

Section 66 provides for disqualification from seeking election into the National Assembly (House of Representatives and Senate); Section 107 provides for similar situations in for the House of Assembly; Section 137 provides for the President and Section 182 provides for the Governors. In all cases it is the 1st item in the list of things that disqualify a candidate.

For example, Section 107 provide thus:

(1) No person shall be qualified for election to a House of Assembly if –

(a). Subject to the provisions of Section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country;

The process for voloutary acquisition of US citizenship requires swearing of allegiance.

The difference between Saraki and Ngozi is the word “voluntary”.

She cant even become a minister again according to section 144. (5) which states

"No person shall be appointed as a Minister of the Government of the Federation unless he is qualified for election as a member of the House of Representatives."

Basically, you people are carrying fight for someone who has turned her back on Nigeria.....Quite frankly, i dont blame her.

Lets just assume everything above is correct. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has already served Nigeria in various capacities. I doubt if she is one of those still running around with their CV's in Abuja, looking for ministerial positions.

When it comes to President of Nigeria, her chances of getting to that position are next to zero, same as any of her fellow Igbo

Remove Okonjo Iweala's name. Now that she has voluntarily taken up American citizenship, she can no longer contest to be a senator, governor or president in Nigeria.

I didnt say she was did I? If anything it is an indication that she has given up on Nigeria and has absolutely no plans for any office in Nigeria again. She is a smart intelligent woman, she knows the implications of taking American citizenship. I simply said she cannot be anymore, even if she wanted to. By the letter of the law, elective office and ministerial positions in Nigeria are now closed to her permanently.

therefore no point mentioning her name when it comes to presidential candidates.

Because APC plans to rig the general elections hence refusing to sign the electoral ammendment. Contesting presidential elections under any party apart from APC may be fruitless and pointless
Amotolongbo:
Seriously, some South easterners are somnambulists

PDP is a party they’ve been laboring faithfully and assiduously since 1999, now that is the time to reap from it, they decide abandoning it to Atiku.

The other party which they labeled evil and all sorts of devious names, APC, they want to reap from.

What makes one think that he can work in MTN office and expecting the wage from a Globacom company if not a somnambulant?

Why are Yorubas concerned about PDP and Igbos? Igbos will do what they feel is best for them and let Yorubas do what's best for them and leave Igbos alone
loopman:
Ibos have never have the ambition of ruling Nigeria but contended with their traditional VP role, it was the realization that the Yorubas will likely clinch the APC ticket for 2023 and go on to become President that is pushing them, the whole attempt is just to see if they can stop the Yorubas in 2023 and not that they are genuinely interested in becoming the president

In 2011 and 2019, Ibos gambled on PDP.
In 2011 and 2019, Yorubas gambled on APC.

So it’s justice and equity to seek ticket from the party you gambled on and invested in for your reward, that is the definition of equity

But Northerners who have been carrying out terrorism in Nigeria, killing Nigerians with reckless abandon are still favorites, right? Truth is with or without 1966, the Igbos will still be hated because they seems to be able to succeed where others fail hence the general envy and hatred towards them
TheChameleon:

Let me give you free information.

OBJ successfully blemished Atiku as a corrupt person. OBJ himself is just as dirty in my personal opinion but...Northerners would ALWAYS see Atiku in that light.

Igbos were NEVER forgiven for the 1966 coup in the North. Sample 100 people randomly in the North... if you get more than 20% who would vote for an Igbo, I owe you money.

Seeing an Igbo on the ticket is a no-go area for an average Northerner.

I personally feel it's unfair but that's the brutal bitter reality.
