Young Leaders Query The Roadmap To A Better Nigeria. by DebbyJose: 9:47am On Sep 05, 2020
Leaders of tomorrow are not expected to take the back seat when the architecture of what tomorrow will look like is being put in place. Besides the planning for a better nation is always a continuous and evolving process, sustained by periodic conversations that will build and fine-tune the mistakes of yesterday, inadequacies of today and the brighter days tomorrow.

The 5th edition of the Nigerian Leadership & Risk Summit scheduled to hold on 17th of September, 2020 as conceived by Conrad Clark Nig. Ltd in collaboration with the Institute of Risk Management-IRM (UK), Risk management Society-RIMS (USA) Business Day (Nig), Convention for Business Integrity (Nig.), is aimed at exploring solutions to national leadership and followership risk through a cross-generational conversation tagged Leadership vs Followership Risk; Uniting a Divided People.

Olufemi Iroko, the Project Lead and Chairman of the Organising committee unveiled the confirmed speakers for the summit which has been redesigned to hold virtually due to the prevailing public gathering restrictions caused by Covid19 spread. The summit will be chaired by Mrs. Ibukun Awosika (Chairman, First Bank Nigeria) and keynote paper shall be delivered by Prof. Karuti Kanyinga (University of Nairobi). Other speakers are Mr Kola Adesina (MD, Sahara Group) and Dr. Salihu Lukman (DG, Progressive Governors Forum). All of whom will be taking critical look at the theme from different perspectives and how it affects the business landscape as well as building our nation.

To actively engage the younger generations, the organisers are fielding proactive young leaders as interrogators who will be asking thought-provoking questions while the speakers dissect the problems and proffer solutions. The interrogators lined up include Segun Awosanya (popularly known as SegaLinks) who is the founder/president SIAF, Zeal Akaraiwe the Founder-Graeme Blaque Advisory, Just omomo Ibe who is the President, Association of African Startups, Ifeoma Melody Ajumobi, Broadcast journalist at Solid 100.9fm, Amynah usman, a lawyer and girl-child advocate, Mustapha Sa’eed SDG and leadership advocate with remarkable strides in the northern Nigeria, and Rt Hon. Mijinyawa, the current speaker of the Nigeria Youth Parliament.

The interrogators are exited to be part of the summit, seeing it as a rare opportunity to be at the front row of the summit with direct involvement in conversations that aimed at making the nation better in business, leadership and overall economy. Doing such will not just give the younger leaders their rightful place in the development framework of the country but also allow them to effectively contribute to the developing of a workable framework for the country.

The summit will allow its premium attendees the opportunity to network with the panelists in a break out session. Sponsorship offerings will also allow corporate organisations to sponsor students, youths and organisations with young members to attend with complimentary pass to the event.

Also, the 2020 winners of the Nigeria Risk Awards aim to recognise and reward excellence in individuals and organisations who have made measurable impact within their sector or industry through the effective application of good governance, risk management and internal control systems and strategies.
