Thugs suspected to be loyal to Governor Ayade has allegedly injured many of Hon. Jarigbe Agom’s supporters after beating and killing one during a clash at the PDP primaries in Ogoja.

According to reports gathered, Ben Ayade’s loyalists clashed with supporters of Hon Jarigbe Agom in the presence of party chieftains, Hon. Stella Odey, Hon. John Ulafor, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi and scores of other appointees of the state government.

Narrating what transpired, Mr. Emmanuel Egwu, the Publicity Secretary Of the Yala Local Govt. Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party said he was on his way to Ogoja to meet with other party delegates and supporters when he was called by an unnamed commissioner of Economic planning to stop at the residence of the house of assembly member representing Yala Constituency 2, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi.

He further narrated that on reaching the lawmaker’s house, Hon. Ulafor tried to compel them to join loyal delegates to the governor camped at the Ranch but refused and pleaded to take his leave.

His refusal sparked up the trouble that led to the clash and killing afterward.

The Thugs Stopped Him From Entering His Car, And Demanded That Mr. Egwu, Who Is A Delegate, In Tomorrow’s Senatorial Primaries, Joins The Bus The Governor Had Arranged To Force Delegates To Be Camped At The Obudu Ranch Resort. Mr. Egwu, Resisted And Asked To Be Allowed To Drive His Car, Even If He Has To Follow Them, But They Refused, And Started Dragging Him.

Three Of Mr. Egwu’s Friends Who Were In The Car With Him; Mr. Charles Onwe(Now Late) Bob Igelle And Mr. Adibe Tried To Intervene To Extricate Mr. Egwu, When The Thugs Turned On Them, Stabbing Them With Daggers, Cutting Them With Machetes And Shooting Sporadically. Mr. Egwu And Mr. Igelle Managed To Run For Their Lives While Mr. Onwe And Adibe, Were Left Half Dead, Until Police Around The Area Intervened And Took Them To The General Hospital Ogoja, Where Mr. Charles Onwe Was Later Confirmed Dead, While The Other Two Are Still Receiving Treatments At The General Hospital Ogoja
