you are very right here. He tinkered with the law to wittle down Sanusi's powers and influence so as to give other emirs some chance and power. Now Sanusi is out, he changes the law to what it has always been. And de rubber stamp house of assembly will do the bidding of any governor so long as he settles them with ghana-must-go bags full of money. The Oba cannot be removed by anybody whether in good terms or not. The highest the governor can do is to not give him his allowance.

That is because the Oba of Benin respects himself, sees the governors as more or less his subjects, treat them like kids and understand the role of a traditional ruler and doesn’t over step boundaries.
