Justice Salami Sitting Allowances, Emoluments And Luxurious Lifestyle That Made Him Ask For Extension

A sitting allowance of N250,000 per day is not excessive for a former President of the Court of Appeal.

A lot of the work is done when he is not sitting (for which he's probably not paid separately), and it's not like the panel sits every day for weeks unend.

The number of sittings over a few months to probe Magu could be less than 20, which translates to about N5m. That's not excessive for a man of that experience & status.

Coro coro

Of course, Magu and his mates will not stay idle without fighting back.

The question is, why is Sahara reporters allowing it's medium to be used for such discrediting news...

This is exact how Sowore shot himself in the foot by helping foist this disaster and now can hardly find anyone to take him and his movement any serious.

Nonsense!....so, being flown to Ilorin in a presidential jet has become a luxury..
What do you say when the same JET was packed in England for over six (6) months when one of our 9Ja leader was sick
Afterall, he who pays the piper dictates the tune...Is the president who gave Justice Salami the assignment complaining?
This report in it content is so bias and witch-hunting...let us always be fair...there is no more investigative journalism...just a copy and paste from online!

Re: Justice Salami Sitting Allowances, Emoluments & Luxurious Lifestyle - Sahara R. by softset: 10:29am On Sep 10, 2020
Is 250k luxurious? Common Sahara you are better than this crap.

We all know that it's not a lot of money even if he is paid for 6 months... sitting is not daily

This is meant to further embarrass the judge

My guess

Awol1:
You reliably gathered...as if the probe is no longer part of the reason for the extension.

While Salami might like the enjoyment that comes with the assignment, Sahara Reporters should not make it seem like enjoyment is his sole reason for extension.

Is SR now saying that the scope Salami is delving into since the extension is unnecessary?

About flying Salami to Kwara in a Presidential jet... If it wasn't for his national assignment, he would have had all the time to attend all the events he dims fit. Right now, the presidency is his employee and it's not illegal for your employee to make your work comfortable in any way they can. Just like banks would give official cars to senior officials.

About going to UK for medical checkup in the guise of interviewing Diezani, what if he's truly going to interview Diezani but also needs to see his doctor? Would SR rather have him go to UK to interview Diezani first, then come back and go to see his doctor?

I been think say this people get sense but it's obvious Sowore has realigned with Tinubu.

I'm a huge critique of this govt, but that doesn't mean I have to support senselessness.

Everyone who gets into public office starts looking for way to steal from the state continuously...

Corruption is when you pay over 200,000 for one sitting allowance but pay 30,000 for 30 days work as minimum wage.

Corruption is strangulating the common man, and snuffing life out of those who choose to live upright.

It is time to enact a death sentence bill in Nigeria for those found guilty of abusing public office and corruptly enriching themselves...

Support this call anywhere you are.

Thank you
You are very right, but don't you think the poor they have stolen dry from should also be happy as the thieves are all happy from stolen money. So, I support you and i also say they should be amputated of one arm and leg to see and know how and see what the poor are going through. Of only Jerry Rawlinys can fight for the poor Nigerians as he is fighting the president of France for ECOWAS.

Without news platforms like Sahara Reporters, The Punch, Premium Times and a few others, our so-called leaders would continue to take the entire nation for a ride without being held accountable for their actions and/or in actions. You may dislike Sahara Reporters and its publisher but it remains the main watchdog of the Nigerian so called leaders where the opposition parties are in a very deep state of slumber.

Justice Salami Sitting Allowances, Emoluments And Luxurious Lifestyle That Made Him Ask For Extension

SAHARAREPORTERS

This report doesn't make sense. The sitting allowance is less than £500 and the use of federal assets is meant to insulate him from societal pressures. Why are we like this? Is there any newspaper or news medium that cannot be bought? SR wants a judge facing death threats daily to take scheduled airlines, live in his own house and work on civil service salary? Does the writer know the benefits that accrue to Lagos and Federal judges?

To imagine they are only probing one man 'MAGU' is sickening.

The ex-judge is also collecting pensions, probably running into millions, the question is why spent so much just to probe one man?

The government will still come to tell the suffering majority, why certain things could not be provided because there's no MONEY.

This mentality of reading only a vgerse of scripture to analyse an entire lifetime of godliness.
Chief, when you consider these number of panels presently in sitting in all of government, and the vast potential for a lot, lot more due to the dysfunction of the Nigerian State it amounts to a subscription to a world of poverty.

Look man, we are at the stage where the only way we are coming out of this national stall is for men and women of integrity offering the ultimate sacrifice of self, need and greed to step forward and right the wrongs. Let someone inspire us with everything for nothing. This is how great nations are founded. This is how desperate nations become great.

Mr. Salami is not a pauper. He must have been on government's payroll all his adult life. He can give something back. If true, to loidge at the Presidential suite of the Hilton is exactly why we are in this mess in the first place. That hotel just exists to serve government functions and functionaries at our expenses. I do not think without government patronage they will have survived this long.

We need to change the narrative around public service as a call to serve and not a call to brag about credentials, blast about achievements and milk it to our collective loss. Salami has an equal stake in the success of this country. He should take a slice in the cake that has caused so much national diarrhoea.
