It's called reach and structure.


Those parties have offices in every nook and cranny of Nigeria and have the funds to push those offices hence they retain power.

On a grand scale only one of those 2 parties can win a presidential election in nigeria for now.

It's too late for a third party to start making waves for 2023.

Unless existing structures are hijacked by said third party it can never work.


On the state level it might be easier to win the house of assembly and local government elections from a new party but even senate and house of reps will be hard unless the entire structure is hijacked.

Apc and pdp are well oiled political machines with numerous parts all benefiting from the power in thier hands that's why it would be hard because no part of the machinery wants to lose out.

swears that's our problem in Nigeria we vote political parties and not candidates. If we truly want an end to our suffering we should scrutinize each candidates and vote for the most promising not a fool from a popular party. If it's done that way our politicians will be up for competition and they'll try to do more good to gain standing.
