What is the productive capacity of the Nigerian citizen excluding oil that comes out of the ground?/

Look, I get it - our leaders are selfish entitled criminals. But even we're they to be saints our productive non oil capacity does not call for paliatives similar to the US.

Buhari & d rest of d political class and their families eat free food, drink free water& drinks, wear free clothes, read free newspaper, enjoy free internet & phone calls, free air and road transportation, free medical care, free electricity, free water, free security, free entertainment & DStv, free accomodation at home& abroad and several other freebies we don't even know for doing nothing. Pls who is paying for all these freebies? What is d "productive capacity" of our political class that warrants d above?

If 50k& 30k looks like millions to u, it only confirms d point I made that d level of poverty & struggling in d country is very high. D psyche of d average Nigerian is now so bastardized by suffering that very little now seems like much. And there's no way that u can compare d level of difficulty in d country in this present day& time with what obtained in yesteryears
Don't misunderstand me please. I never said it looks like a million but it's better than nothing. And yes you can't deny the fact that this country is not getting any better and I'm sorry to say that it never will. The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider every day and the small number of rich peoples have been exploiting the large number of poor peoples. It will take only God intervention for things to change.
And yes everything you've said about the poverty and struggling of Nigerian masses is very correct but how do we change that when each and everyone of us is responsible for our current state in one way or another?

TheRareGem1:
Tola Johnson, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Micro Small and Medium and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs), says 100,000 small businesses will get N50,000 each.

NAN reports that the gesture is part of COVID-19 economic stimulus.

The presidential aide made the announcement at the inauguration of the Implementation of Survival Fund and Guaranteed Off-Take Stimulus Schemes for MSMEs on Thursday in Abuja.

Johnson, the Project Coordinator, said that the schemes were part of the Economic Sustainability Plan drafted by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo-led committee and approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

"The Payroll Support targets 100,000 businesses. However, the number of individuals who will benefit from this is 500,000. What the government has done is to say that there a lot of MSMEs that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

“Afterward, there is a CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) free registration; it is free for the MSMEs but the government is paying the CAC for this. What the government has done is to say to the CAC, you do this regularly to the MSMEs at about N12,000 or thereabout; give it to us at half price, we will give it to the MSMEs free".

Johnson added that under the National MSMEs Clinic, Osinbajo and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment went to no fewer than 26 states.

He said it was discovered that very creative businesses were not registered.

“They will tell you they don’t have N10,000 to N12,000 to register their businesses. The government had promised that at some point, we will do and I think the opportunity has come now; the opportunity cannot be better than now.’

The official also announced that under the Survival Fund, the last strap would be the Transport and Artisans Support.

At least 333,000 beneficiaries will get a one-off N30,000 grant, Johnson said.

He added that the government will work with associations, individuals and the Ministry of Transportation to implement the scheme.

That's because during covid, the came with a 500 billion palliative grant and we all know how it went down. It never got to destination and where it did, mostly northern states and party faithfuls. We all saw that there is no data for sharing Nigerians wealth evenly.

No, they want to do some trillions where government is hiking and increasing everything and complaining no money. What is the assurance that its those that need it that will get it, or its not just another party faithfuls or northern project or election rigging strategy cos this government na one of give to take.

Then again where is the wisdom in sharing 50k or 30k to 400k+ people or SMES? What equipment can it buy? How many salaries can it pay? How many plate of food can it bring to the table? How many mouth can it feed and for how long? How can it sustain a family of 6!

They just want to justify their wasteful spending by indulging Nigerians in their wasteful spending so that the end of it, after all, we all shad the money after they have stolen so much.

What is d productive capacity of d average Saudi or United Arab emirati?
look at their GDP and discount it with their position in tbd fragility index and you get your answer. Truth is our leaders are sh** and they do not create an enabling environment but they did not create our clapping and hissing culture. Afghanistan is a wretched place but simple people produce the highest quality carpets in the world. Do we not import tilers and masons from to go? Even at an artisian level we struggle. Sure our leaders don't help but as people we must look at "our let us manage it like that" culture.

NSIP remain the most transparent scheme in the history of nigeria when we are talking about investing in human capital development. The records are there, well recognised by the international community and also the local of course. As transparent as it, a new Ministry is now saddled with it responsibility to make it a going concern.
