What is Ruling on Business/marketti/ other scams?

Praise be to Allaah.
When discussing these operations which spread quickly and which are very unclear and ambiguous
to ordinary people, as well as being very tempting,we must note two points:

Marketting And Related Scam

1 – The shar’i ruling that is based on the texts andprinciples of sharee’ah, as well as on a clear understanding of this issue as it is, what it leads to, and what its background is.
2 – We must train ourselves to follow the shar’i ruling and not be deceived by specious arguments. Since this matter requires lengthy discussion, we
will give a brief answer, followed by a discussion of
the relevant shar’i principles, then we will answer in more detail.
Brief answer to this question:
Based on the way that this “Business” operation is
carried out and what it really is, and what the
representatives of this company have mentioned of
information and conditions, and the evidence and
conditions quoted by those who have discussed it
to justify either allowing or disallowing it, and by
measuring all of that against the Qur’aan and
Sunnah and the shar’i principles concerning
transactions, and the views of the scholars, it is
clear that this operation is haraam, for a number of
reasons, including the following:
1 – This operation is based on gambling and
consuming people’s wealth unlawfully. It involves
deceit and tempting people to earn a lot of money.
It exploits their love of accumulating wealth. Allaah
says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of
alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansaab
(stone altars for sacrifices to idols, jinn etc), and
Al-Azlaam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are
an abomination of Shaytaan’s (Satan’s) handiwork.
So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order
that you may be successful”
[al-Maa’idah 5:90]
“And eat up not one another’s property unjustly (in
any illegal way, e.g. stealing, robbing, deceiving)”
[al-Baqarah 2:188]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) said: “Your blood and your wealth are
sacred to you as this day of yours in this land of
yours in this month of yours is sacred.” Narrated by
Muslim, 2137. This analogy in the hadeeth serves to
make this prohibition very emphatic indeed.
2 – After a thorough examination of this issue, it is
clear that introducing the product – which is
software programs, a web site and e-mail – does
not change the ruling on this operation, because itis obvious that the product is not what most ofthose who rush to buy actually want, as is provenfrom the evidence mentioned in the detailedanswer. Introducing this product in this mannermakes it even more haraam, because it involvestrickery that leads to a haraam transaction which isa kind of gambling.

3 – This operation is unlike the kind of commissionthat is permitted, in several ways: one has to paymoney in order to enter the scheme, unlike thecommission that requires no such condition. Thepurpose is not to sell the product to those whoneed it, rather the purpose is to build an incentivesystem. Even if we accept that this is commission,it is still haraam because it involves cheating thepurchaser and raising false hopes and beinginsincere towards him. Based on this, the view ofthose who permit it on the grounds that it iscommission is not correct. Perhaps the reason forthat is that this matter has not been described tothem as it really is, or the one who issued this rulingdid not understand it properly. This ruling isapplicable to many kinds of dealings andtransactions that occur nowadays in the marketing field or internet dating scam.

Internet Scam
The Quran and hadith verses quoted above is also applicable to internet fraud, but there is also chapter in the Quran which is based on Tricking and Defrauding unsuspecting people and the chapter is Suraat Mutoffefeen Q: 83 from verse one to the end.

CHAPTER 83 SURA
In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
1. Woe to the defrauders.
2. Those who, when they take a measure from
people, they take in full.
3. But when they measure or weigh to others, they
cheat.
4. Do these not know that they will be resurrected?
5. For a Great Day?
6. The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord
of the Worlds?
7. Not at all. The record of the wicked is in Sijjeen.
8. But how can you know what Sijjeen is?
9. A numerical book.
10. Woe on that Day to the deniers.
11. Those who deny the Day of Reckoning.
12. But none denies it except the sinful aggressor.
13. When Our revelations are recited to him, he says,
“Legends of the ancients.”
14. Not at all. Their hearts have become corroded by
what they used to earn.
15. Not at all. On that Day, they will be screened
from their Lord.
16. Then they will roast in Hell.
17. Then it will be said, “This is what you used to
deny.”
18. No indeed; the record of the righteous is in
Elliyyeen.
19. But how can you know what Elliyyoon is?
20. A numerical book.
21. Witnessed by those brought near.
22. Indeed, the righteous will be amid bliss.
23. On thrones, looking on.
24. You will recognize on their faces the radiance of
bliss.
25. They will be given to drink a sealed wine.
26. Whose seal is musk—this is what competitors
should compete for.
27. Its mixture is of Tasneem.
28. A spring from which those brought near drink.
29. Those who committed crimes used to laugh at
those who believed.
30. And when they passed by them, they would wink
at one another.
31. And when they went back to their families, they
would go back exulting.
32. And if they saw them, they would say, “These
people are lost.”
33. Yet they were not sent as guardians over them.
34. But on that Day, those who believed will laugh at
the unbelievers.
35. On luxurious furnishings, looking on.
36. Have the unbelievers been repaid for what they
used to do?

What Surat is All about?
This Surah is about defrauders “Increasing and decreasing in the Measure and Weight will be a Cause for Regret and Loss”.”The Record of the Wicked and some of
what happens to Them”. “and “The Wicked Behavior of the Criminals and Their mocking of the Believers”.

How does it relate with internet Fraud?
Internet from is an act of lying to unsuspecting victim by decreasing the real truth (who they are) and increasing the real lie/trick (What they are not) Any business lie is involved is a scam.

May Allah forgive us what we did in ignorance and guide us afterward. ameen.
