|National Peace Committee: Obeseki, Ize-iyamu Should Honor Peace Pact. by aguele(m): 8:57pm On Sep 16|
The National Peace Committee, headed by former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, had yesterday ensured that the candidates of the APC and PDP came together to sign the traditional peace pact in order to ensure peaceful conduct of the governorship election in Edo state come Saturday September 19, 2020.
While the two frontline candidates came together to sign and even hugged themselves to the glare of the watching public, the reality on the ground does not seem to reflect that the election will be peaceful, based on intelligence reports gathered so far from various local government areas and flashpoints in the state it shows that politicians from both parties have armed and contracted political thugs that will carry out violence on the day of the election.
Even though we have noticed the heavy presence of armed policemen across the state I am certain that they will definitely compromise and let politicians have their way because there has been inadequate preparedness for these policemen that have been left to sleep on the streets, buses, trucks or in some cases begging to sleep on corridors of some residents.

Politicians are only peaceful when things go their way. If there's no accountability then we will still do things in a 'crude way'
