We've hungered and have been thirsty for success, we stand on the threshold, we've been strong and not waivered. Here is a thread to our sure success. Bring it on Haterz, we are the Arsenal and we don't do fear.

Faith in what players exactly? Arsenal fans are hardly ever united over which players are actually bad anyway and in instances where a better player has come along e.g. Wilshere/Denilson I've always been one of those to first accept it. When Theo had a shocker last season I was also one of those who knocked him hard and excessively too according to some people. What I've questioned is the belief that we need to go and buy big. All those who bought big mind you, did not get to the final of this cup and bar Manure are behind us in the League.

And there yu go again with the OTT response to a defeat in a cup final and show a fickle nature, an unfortunate albeit shocking error between Kos and Szczesny in their first final appearance for the club should not negate all they've done so far this season.

nobody talked about kos
my own is that we hv players thatare overpaid for their level of skill and cannot command such wages else where yet AW keeps faith with them
whether it is repeated on the big ben,, defense wins titles.

AWs first titles were won by Tony Adams, Keown, Winterburn and Seaman

are you serious? is koscielny not better than vidic anymore? this defender didn't lose a single tackle in the french league before coming to arsenal. i think he's better than maldini. cheesy

New wine in an old bottle. At least, you were brave enough to open a new thread on a day you fumbled and wobbled. At least,my brother couldn't drink the wine he had refrigerated for the day of the ''jinx breakdown''.At least, this will be my only post in here until you win something tangible. At least, your trophy cabinet was properly cleaned today.

You guys must have hearts made out of stone to keep on supporting a team that consistently breaks your hearts.I envy you,but i don't cry cry cry

Sure about this? or just repeatin what someone said?
We pay the 4th highest wages in the league, have loads of youngsters coming through which others can only dream of and are 2nd in the league and lost out in a final of a cup while still actively competing in 2 other cups, consider the so called youngsters high pay to be a tradeoff for not buying big, yu have to insure against losing yur young players on a free. If Flamini had been one of these so called highly payed players, we wldn't have lost him on a free to Milan.

As to the defense, I'm sure those people you mentioned also lost their fair share of finals. I think Winterburn actually mentioned one where he lost a penalty while we were 2-0 up and we ultimately lost 3-2. He subsequently was able to make ammends 6 years later by winning it but I'm hoping this lot do that much earlier.

Let me help you keep your quadruple dream alive- you've already won the emirates cup na, quadrumple.
Didn't the boys rest enough? Maybe team J should have played against Stoke so that the boys would've been FULLY rested for today, they must rest mustn't they? Lazy bunch. World class trophy-laden teams and players are playing every match, arsene's boys are resting against next season.
I told y'all you needed to loan a coach. Your players are obviously better than Birmingham's.

Fellow Congregation let us open to the book of Lamentations

These guys should donate their wages for this week to charity and for every other week they tank they should do the same damn thing and that includes Wenger!! Maybe that would help them not screw up when it matters most

Obafemi Martins said that was the "easiest goal of my career".
That is the ultimate insult!

Better luck next time guys. You guys will beat Barca easily, they don't have a tall player like Zigic.

Its in no way insulting but totally true, it was handed to him wasnt it? he didn't even attack the ball, na unfortunate oversabi on the part of Kos at the worst possible time. shades of Diaby's unfortunate header against Manure last season.

Abeg anyone who has opened a thread for us in the past 5 years should not be allowed to open threads again until we win a trophy for obvious reasons. grin grin

On a more serious note, I can imagine the whole dressing room would have been devastated and we must have very low morale in the team now. But the boys need to pick themselves up. We have a game on wednesday! It is sad we lost in the finals to Birmingham but it will be worse if we lose to Orient at the Emirates
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (A New Strength, A New Hope). by proudly9ja(m): 2:18am On Feb 28, 2011
One thing that also worries me is the over reliance on Cesc Fabregas. Without him in recent times, we have struggled to beat Leeds, Ipswich and today Birmingham. Personally I think this is more of a psychological problem than a lack of quality issue. We played without him for most of the first period of this season when he was injured.

Secondly, it is also worrisome our strikers can't stand up to be counted (apart from RVP). I think Chamakh should be shown the door come end of season (and no its not a knee-jerk reaction). If Bendtner doesn't pick up by June, he should follow Chamakh. We need strikers we can count on when the chips are down.

Overall so far this season, I can't really blame AW for too many things. He has bent backwards on some of his policies this season just to win that elusive trophy. His boys have largely disappointed him and if anyone of them open his mouth about leaving this summer, he should be slapped!

I hate to mention this but isn't it funny how all our players who we 'laugh' at for having a down the hill career after leaving us have actually won trophies whilst we have not? - Larsson joined that growing list last night.
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (A New Strength, A New Hope). by proudly9ja(m): 2:29am On Feb 28, 2011
Finally before going to bed, kudos to Birmingham. They had a game plan and stuck to it and they they didn't play us off the park too. What's more, they were even unfortunate for not having a penalty in the early stages of the game and should have been playing against 10 man Arsenal anyways (wouldn't it have been funny if Almunia had had to come in for the red carded Scecezny?). They even had half of the their CB pairing playing with one leg for most of the second half something Arsenal couldn't take advantage of.

I've never been on that bandwagon of people supporting players saying they are leaving due to lack of trophies, its crazy as far as I'm concerned.
Both Larsson and Hleb actually won silverware yesterday but strange enough both would gladly come back to us.
The Carling cup was to have been for the long suffering fans and to silence our critics, sad it ended with our achilles heel, a refusal to take the initiative and a predisposition to self implosion.

I personally do not agree with this part of your post. Winning the Carling Cup would have done more for the players too. Its obvious our problem is more in the head than anywhere else. How could the same team (bar Fabregas) defeat Barcelona and crumble to Birmingham? The nerves of not winning anything as a club is affecting the players more than its affecting the fans. As for critics, they will always talk, that's why I don't bother to respond to them.

hmmn . . . .

I wonder what it would take to appear in another cup final ?

Obafemi has come from obscurity to win the 'milk tray' for the Brummies within minutes, yet we parade duds like Chamakh and Bendtner and we pretend they are world-class strikers ?

We parade dolts like Kosileyin and expired stans like Rosicky and pretend that we are truly creative . . . .

We prefer to leave out Diaby when we could easily have made do with bringing him on to add a new dimension to the game, retaining possesion, deadening the attack of our rivals and the extra flair he brings especially going forward . . .

We prefer to sacrifice Arshavin when its obvious within a minute or 2 he could conjure magic ?

Well, would we still say GOD ISNT A GUNNER ? undecided
