AE-FUNAI CES LAUNCHES ADVERT FOR FRESH MEN AS IT CELEBRATES END OF 2019/2020 ACADMIC SESSION.
The Centre for Educational Services (CES), Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, on Friday 25th September, 2020, held a get together at the Centre’s Auditorium, to mark the end of 2019/2020 academic session for the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) and Pre-Degree students. It was a great day as Tutors of CES, Deans and Directors from the mother institution (AE-FUNAI) gathered to appreciate God for his mercies and protection that despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, the centre was able to meet up with their academic calendar. This of course was achieved through the effort of our dear visionary Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba by his commitment towards the success of the Centre.

Prof. Dr. Ogunji presenting his address
Pastor Francis Ajah of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Abakaliki, led the opening prayer. While delivering his sermon, the Pastor took the bible reading from Proverbs Chapter 22: 29 ‘’Do you see a man diligent and skilful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men, maintaining that loving what you do is the best way to be productive. He posited that it may be difficult for anyone to give his/her best in a situation where the person does not love giving, adding that for you to be diligent in your duties, it is required of you to love what you do, putting in your best in a particular thing you have been asked to do, making sure that you excel and produce both quality and quantity, ‘’Do your best and God will give you the best’’ he said.

DVC, Prof. Philip Omoke making speech
The Director, Centre for Educational Services, Prof. Dr. Johnny Ogunji, in a welcome address, thanked our action Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba, and his management team, for their relentless effort in planting the seed of quality leadership and academic excellence at the centre in particular and the University at large. He affirmed that Prof Nwajiuba has consistently been responsive to the financial, material cum personnel needs and the continued development of the Centre.

Prof Ejike proposing a toast
Prof. Ogunji reiterated that the administration of Prof. Nwajiuba has been a favourable one to the Centre as one of the recent show-of- interest is the acquisition of a parcel of land for AE-FUNAI CES Permanent Site. He further adduced that this seed the VC has planted will continue to grow and fly at an eagle’s altitude, asserting that the Centre for Educational Services of AE-FUNAI is already one of the leading progressive JUPEB/Pre-Degree Centres in the South East, having gotten 80% recommendation by the JUPEB Panel after their visit in January, 2020. He assured that the standard will be sustained by the grace of God.

Mr Chris Uwadoka, Ag. Dir. Partnerships, observing the cutting of cake
The Director stressed further that during the academic year, the Centre registered a total of 390 students, comprising of 270 JUPEB Candidates and 120 Pre-Degree students, noting that COVID-19 Pandemic and the new normal imposed with the pandemic affected the academic calendar and cost of running the Centre ,however, the overhead cost has remained optimal.

Prof Rosemary Igbo launching the adverting campaign
Prof Ogunji, mentioned that during the lockdown, the Centre in a bid to cover their syllabus and adequately coach the students to pass requisite examinations, engaged in zoom lectures, The measures he added helped them in completing their scheme of work and getting the students ready for the 2020/2021 exit examinations.
