1. Akinwunmi Adesina
The two-time president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), a multilateral development finance institution, is one of Nigeria’s pride in recent times. Amongst many of the international honours in his portfolio, the Sunhak Peace Prize and World Food Prize, which he received last year (2019), for his record of promoting food security in Africa through agricultural innovations.

Having served as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Adesina extended his portfolio to become the Vice-President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and Associate Director at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York, where he worked for a decade in senior leadership positions, including as Regional Office Director and Representative for Southern Africa.

2. Ben Enwonwu
Ben Enwonwu was a Nigerian painter and sculptor. Most people refer to him as the most influential African artist of the 20th century. In 1958 he was awarded a Commonwealth certificate in London, for his contributions to art by the Royal Institute of Art. Enwonwu died as one of the most celebrated Nigerian artists of all time.
