by way of honing our skills and trading useful info/tips on our various techniques- i propose a digital painting exercise.

attached are a couple of inked illustrations pulled from the web.
any interested, should please indicate here, so we can select which illustration(s) to start with. (alternative sketches r welcome)

posting of works-in-progress and description of technique is highly encouraged (as are questions)

the finer details like- duration of d challenge, prizes(if possible), etc will be mutually discussed/agreed upon by the participants.
the main aim tho is self-development.

Software: photoshop cs3 Tool: genius sketch pad Time: 1hr 50 mins. Comments: layed down base colors first, then used lighter colors for highlight and darker shades for shadows with varying opacities. I have no idea how hulk hair looks so i mashed out black hair and purple pants. Had fun doing it.

hmm. okx should we be doing this now?  (you know what i mean) i dunno i kinda like the chiseled style of sample 4. so yeah i think i'll give it a shot too.

damn! totally forgot as the thread sank. hmm. and i was planning to really sleep really early tonight. any way i signed up so might as well live up to it.
nice going okx. nice workflow too by dropping your color palette on canvas for quicker access.

Its been long i entered nairaland and i think this is another opportunity to bounce back.I love this and i'm in for this one.

nice job you doing down there...i have not this digital painting before but i do manual or i mean drawings with my hands can i get hints and software i can use for the digital printing work?
