The Super Eagles of Nigeria played a friendly game with Algeria and they were defeated by a goal to nil in the highly competitive friendly game.

The match started exactly 7:30pm and an early goal from Algeria sealed the game. At the start of the game, Algeria dominated the match and it took them just six minutes to find the back of the net as Ramy Bensebiani put the away team in front.

Despite the Super Eagle's starting eleven, they were not able to level the scoreline before the halftime break.
Despite the fact that most Nigerians did not watch the match due to the "EndSARS" protest that seemed to have taken the attention of many, some of them shared their displeasure as Nigeria lost their first competitive game in 2020.

Nigerians took to twitter after the final whistle to rate some of the players. A particular twitter user attacked the former Arsenal player, Alex Iwobi over his poor performance tonight, describing him as a flop. He also advised him to retire the way Odion Ighalo did.

Another twitter user ala blasted the coach for his wrong substitution which made Nigeria not to score a goal. Others also said Nigeria lost due to poor communication among the players.

iwobi try abeg to me he was the only positive vibe in that field ekong and balogun were also outstanding . Algeria are champions for a reason

The entire starting eleven was lacklustre,not just Iwobi.Btw,that Onuachu guy needs a team like his club mates to compliment his strenght.Throughout the match,he was just losing possession like free wifi.Let see what Dessers has to offer.But there is need for patience,as there is presently no chemistry among the players,most especially the new boys on the block.
Iwobi,Chukwueze,Okoye,Balogun,Kalu,Akpoguma and Zanadu did a decent job.Like to see them in the next match.
