Too small.. Hate speech is way more dangerous than it seems.. It has led to genocide, war, crisis, distrust, and even anarchy..

Nigeria really needs to fight this menace especially on social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland, etc.. before it consumes us... That amount is too small to achieve this.. We should be talking billions, not millions..

Nigeria go better...

My brother, there is free speech. But no more hate speech. Hate speech is very dangerous, don't downplay it. The result could be catastrophic..

The Apc led government is fighting hate speech to avert criticisms from their poor governance.. If only Igbos and yorubas can draw strength from this and change this narrative by stop hating on each other, unify and stand up against corruption and injustice in this country.

Can we see beyond tribal bigotry. Can we let one common goal unite us which is positive brilliant mentality, fairness and peace pursuance.

Am still shocked that the youths can match together and talk to the government and the government could react by disbanding SARS. That is the power of unity.

Buhari faults crackdown on Boko Haram
JUNE 3, 2013

Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has frowned on the emergency rule in parts of the North. He alleged that innocent civilians were being killed in the states.

Buhari speaking during a Liberty FM Hausa Service Programme, Guest of the Week, on Sunday in Kaduna said that Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government.

how will they use money to tackle hate speech?
Prisoners of hate speech will be fed, clothed and their electricity bill paid in prison. They will also be transported home after being released from prison. Will be sent abroad to study how to respect the government and that will cost money. Some will be killed and money will be spent in burying them. You see as the money dey go abi?
Before you know it now that amount won't be enough. They will start borrowing to fight hate speech and you will hear news headlines like"the government spent 94.6789419 billion naira in fighting hate speech for the past 3 months".

FG budgets N336m to fight hate speech, others

Too small, this requires greater spending. Hate speech and the general monitoring of Social Media are crucial if Nigeria is to survive and prosper. Nigeria needs also to find a way of discovering those behind the Social Media campaigns telling lies about Nigeria in order to discourage foreigners visiting Nigeria. Nigeria needs to do likewise about those external forces brainwashing Nigeria’s young minds.

Reading the above, some Nigerians will be fuming and those Africans that are not Nigerians but who work in Troll houses targeting Nigeria will be slightly frustrated; however, all should be warned that the use of Social Media to destroy Nigeria will not end there. This threatens all of Africa. After all, at its inception, those that sold the Internet to the US congress did so by explaining how the Internet was going to give voice to oppressed people of the third world. Don’t be fooled by these apparently enlightened sounding sentiments, they are merely coded words meaning Internet will enable America to control the world through controlling the young and local dissidents.
