If the judiciary system in the past and present were up and doing,it could have been better today. Whether mob or not,it part of the society learn to accept it that way,because even the ones that aren’t mob also are tired. Una eyes go dirty for this one.

I agree to one statement of his amongst much hogwash: 'There must be a face to the struggle...'

Regrettably I understand why this isn't. The goverment which he serves and is a part of has cut off all channels of communication with the people by destroying the structures of democracy and terrorizing the citizenry.

The National Assembly which should be the first safety valve of society no longer represents the peoole but is an effectual mouthpiece of the Executive. If they worked the way similar institutions worked the world over, things will not get to this climax.

The Judiciary which in my opinion should be in charge of the police or at least have a strong say in how law enforcement works is also in the bag of central goverment, so today you will not find a single judge who dares act against officers of the law because they too see themselves subservient to the Executive that runs the show, and not as collaborators or as directors within the crimunal justuce system.

And then what has happened to the various activists and CS groups who should be running this anti police software on their platforms for effective reformation. They are all silent, cowered by a goverment that cannot tolerate dissent on any matter no matter how benign.

The sum of this all is that goverment is completely out of touch with the realities surrounding the country and its people it claims to serve and the people themselves will not succeed in getting their expectations met because they are in reality not the barbarians hammering at the gates of Rome.

The goverment is comfortable. And unfortunately still dishing out its juvenile solutions to deep rooted problems while keeping a keen eye on certain red lines of 'feudalistic' control it will not give up....ever.

No one will win anything here. SARS changed to SWAT is just crosswords or scrabble played in the corridors of power. The folks in both sides talking about remuneration should just stop bothering us with noise. What has money ever solved in this nation since independence.

We need deep thought on both sides and a desire to get to the root of why this country simply cannot function properly. The police woes are just symptomatic of a wider and deeper malaise in the way Nigeria was set up 'not to work'.
