#ENDSARS: Makinde Visits Soun of Ogbomoso, Releases N100M for Renovation of Palace

Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has ordered an immediate release of one hundred million naira to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi for renovation of the palace following invasion of the palace by hoodlums in the wake of #ENDSARS protest.

The Governor gave the directive during a sympathy visit to the palace to assess the level of damages done at the palace an assessment visit to the palace .

Makinde explained that beyond the ENDSARS protest, most Nigerians have become frustrated over prevailing harsh economic reality in the country and if government fail to address youth idleness with gainful employment there might be future disaster.

He also noted that while his government was not against peaceful protest, protesters must be responsible enough to voice their concerns as the state government would work more at ensuring youths in the state were meaningfully engaged

The Governor also instructed the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Chief Bayo Lawal and caretaker chairman of Ogbomosho north local government to make an evaluation of vehicles and other items destroyed for fixing.

Families of Victims, 1million each (I don't know how many families though), Palace hundred million. What actually was destroyed?

I thought Oyo state governor is a reasonable fellow. You gave 1m for life lost and 100m for renovation. Makinde no real at all.

Criminals in Government

N100m for Palace renovation but N1m each for family of the victims killed during the same #ENDSARS protest...

There is absolutely no sense or logic in this decision. How can the family of the late Jimoh get N1million as compensation while the Soun of Ogbomoso gets N100million for palace renovation? How does this make any sense to the governor?
