Go make research on why people clout chase. There you'd have your answer.

Since u have made ur research regarding d subject matter, answering my question shouldn't be a problem for u:

"So which clout or what amount of clout will be added to their lives and career as a result of them associating d nigerian protests?"

my humble and legal advise to this guy, he should stay at home for 14 days in self isolation and after which proceed for a Corona Virus test and if found to be negative then he should get his lawyers to write to the company acknowledging the fact that he was suspended due to the probability of him having the virus however he has gone on self isolation and has also been confirmed to be Corona Virus free and therefore requests to be re-instated. Should the company fail to re-instate him then they would be taking up heavy legal action against them which would make them regret suspending him in the first place.

U still haven't acknowledged whether u have done ur own research or not. But if u say u have, then u should be aware that asking questions is part of research. So am asking u once again:

"So which clout or what amount of clout will be added to their lives and career as a result of them associating d nigerian protests?"

Oga, stop supporting tyrant. Is that the only crowded place that people pass thru? What about market place, Bus Stop, churches & mosques, social gathering etc?
you have your rights as énshrined in the constitution so also the company has its rights. when there is a conflict of interest, then there is a parting of ways. the company gave you its rules, you accepted to abide by them. if for any reason you or the company feel threatened by your/ its actions, then both parties can part ways as agreed.
Re: EndSARS: MBH Power Suspends Staff For Participating In Protest by mbhpower: 5:13pm On Oct 15, 2020
The attention of The Management of MBH Power has been drawn to misinformation currently circulating on social media to the effect that this Company is currently penalizing employees of the Company who participated in the ongoing #Endsars demonstrations. Nothing could be further from the truth.

As a responsible Corporate Citizen, MBH believes in the Rule of Law, and in the right of every human being to freedom of expression by peaceful participation in demonstrations provided that the participation does not conflict with of agreed working hours or otherwise.

MBH Power is also totally committed to the health and safety and welfare of all its employees. In accordance with Nigerian, International Global and World Health Organization covid-19 protocols. Every employee or stakeholder of MBH is expected to wear a face mask internally or wherever interacting with the public. Any employee of the company participating in any demonstration is expected to maintain social distancing and wear a face mask; failing which, such an employee must undergo mandatory quarantine and must undergo a Covid-19 test before resuming duties and interacting with other employees of MBH.

We take precautionary actions to avoid any possible risk of virus exposure or spread to company staff members, colleagues and other citizens.

We must also pay serious attention to the warning issued recently by The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) that there is likely to be an even more devastating second wave of coronavirus in the country due to non-compliance of COVID-19 health guidelines.

The Covid-19 pandemic is not over. Warnings to this effect have been issued by governments all over the world including The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

We trust this clarifies the position.

Stay safe and God bless.

Then you don't know why your company asked you to work from home. It is a pity many adults dont even know why they do what they do. Even if your brain cant process it, you still cant ask? The painful part is, even when told, you people still deliberately decide to be "FUNNY". Hmmmm

Don't be silly. Folks are just following protocol in order not to be sanctioned. Get that boo.

cheesy
The reason for the suspension nor follow at all...
He works from home doesn't mean his whole life is tied to work.
That the company provided a car for transportation to prevent mingling with the public doesn't negate that your employee has other places to go which are not work related.

BTW, how many protesters don get the COVID-19? Even for US where COVID-19 na hotcake, protest jabrata like say tomorrow nor dey.

So, make the company find another thing talk.
the HR of that company don't have any point to make, did they test the guy that he has been infected with corona even if they want to employ another person, won't the person move from public to the company , after work hours do they restrict the guy from moving around?

He was suspended because of the fear of spreading coronavirus at his office, not because he went for the necessary protest .

But the moderator that moved/pushed this to the Frontpage decided to be mischievous by the title of the thread.
And this shouldn't be, knowing how wide spread Nairaland goes all over the world.

"Company suspend staff that went to protest because of fear of coronavirus infection at the office". .... would have been more apt as the title of the thread.

Who wants to die by coronavirus infection now that it is going down all over the world?
They even provided free official vehicle to take him to and from from work, just to keep him and his colleagues safe.

I won't be surprised if the mod deletes this post anyways.
I have made my point.

You have a good point here!
Thank you. But God is the best bro.

You share my view too?
Thank you.

Covid is just an excuse abeg!

What we are fighting for is above SARS and the police. So expect things like these. The good thing is that the World is watching right now let’s take advantage of it.

What are you fighting for?
The world has been watching Nigeria even before your ancestors so there's no big deal, the end of this protest will be brutal.
